Upgraded steering wheel with no buttons/paddles

I have burl walnut trim in my e55 and wanted a wheel that will match but is also thicker.
I like the look and price of this one but it doesn't have the buttons/paddles which i never use anyway.
Will I be able to use it or get a code?

what year is your E55? If it is a 2003 or 2004, removing the shift buttons will result in your car thinking that your are constantly pushing the "UP" button (it is a "normally closed" button that ties the shift input down when NOT activated).

You could fix this with a 100 ohm resistor and a 5.1 volt Zener diode (installed in place of the shift harness).

OR, paddles can be added to your wheel (I have done many of these conversions)

in any case,
send me a note if you need help with this.

Cheers,
Chris
