SC out for rear bearings, time for new injectors
So i took the sc out and going to replace the rear rotor bearings tomorrow. Upon dissembly noticed that 4 of my injectors were more or less wet from fuel, so they leak. Thinking about mods in the near future so this is a ideal time to get bigger ones.
EPC gives the newer blue injector number as a replacement for the old black ones. #A1130780123. So can these be swapped plug and play? Didnt find any info in WIS stating that anything would need to be done. In older threads people are talking about a tune needed to run them?
Anyways trying to source them for a good price, how close are they to the 550cc?
Thanks!

Thanks, so they are still "way" less than the 550 ones.
Its just strange that if i buy them from mb i get the new, better flow ones, and theres no workshop information about having to retune anything. How would dealer "tune" if they were to change the injectors?

550 injectors cost next to nothing if you buy a set on ebay with the plug and play adapters. You will need a retune.

I have no idea what colour they are. only see them being referred to "blue" and "06" injectors
The 03-05split stock injectors arent available from mb anymore, so they are selling me the injectors that have the same part number as the "06" ones.
So clearly when the split came where the new ones were put to cars on the factory, that part replaced the old one.
i just cant get my head around how mb doesnt tell me i need to do something tune wise with my car when im replacing updated oe injectors.
Why it should be done i completly understand. Its just the fact that WIS tells nothing about it thats bothering me

They started making noise last spring, just before garaging the car for the winter.
Bearings were allmost completly dry of grease, this is a thing thats going to star tearing these sc's down in the near future..but its good that theres bearings available.
Going to post some pics of the change later

pretty hard to describe, sounds like a dried out bearing when spinning the sc by hand. Definetly didnt hear it when inside car. I believe theres 8 bearings inside the sc alltogether. 2 are the "rear sc bearings" witch due to the bearings seal design dry out over time as boost keeps runnig against them, they connect to the end of the turbine shafts. 6 are in the front gearbox and are lubricated by your sc oil.

Don't forget the 06 had slightly more aggressive SC gearing. Probably why they went with the bigger blue injectors from the factory.

The guy at Brabus said the performance gain over stock injectors was close to nothing, Stock injectors flow well enough unless you are doing other heavy mods. That was why I didn't upgrade mine for the sake of upgrading. My 2 cents..

do you currently have a tune on your car? If you are considering the 550cc injectors i believe we have the lowest price anywhere.
You can check them out here!

Heres some pics of the bearing change.
First remove the intercooler from the SC
Then remove front bolts,5 comes off 2 lower ones can stay.
Then go cray with a rubberhammer, its tight but will come off!
Whats left of the bearing grease.. Remove these c-clips before you start hammering the rotors out and dont loose them!
Dont bend or loose this seal, cant buy from mb. When istalling use a little of sealant to help seal properly
Shiny
Old inner bearing races on the rotor shafts. Heat up and use a puller to remove or cut with dremel. I used dremel.
Seems a bit dry?
Nothing left
Press the old bearings out. Support straight under the bearing.. needs a lot of pressure to get it loose because of the epoxy used to secure them in place.
5k perssure... PING!
Epoxy in the bearings grooves
Epoxy in bearing housing in sc
Wonder what these markings mean?
New bearings in place, note theres no seal on the bearing itself. Its a metal seal that cuts in to the outer race as it spinns against it with the rotor, making an air tight seal. Inner seal is between the rotor shaft and inner race. Outer seal comes to this side after the rotors are back in place. Theres 3 shimms that go on before the C-clip so theres pressure on the seal on this side too.
