Ride Height and BC Coilovers

I'm about to start the install of the BC coilovers but I have a couple questions about ride height.

I measured the distance from the fender arch to the floor on all 4 corners and found that currently, with the airmatic in the lowered setting, my driver's side is about 1/4" higher than the passenger side at both the front and the rear. Is that normal? Do I want to replicate that with my coilovers?

Also, about how high will the car sit if I don't make any adjustments to the BC's before I install them? I want the car to be pretty close to the factory airmatic lowered setting.

I didn't trust the BC "from the factory setting" I started with setting the rears (as you have read too its a PITA to adjust) 1.5" from where the threaded nut would be flush and there would be no room for the spring to seat in the threaded adjustment portion. That will leave the fender just over the rear tire... I run a 285/30/19 fwiw. The locking nuts end up near the middle of the threaded section.

I had a hard time finding info on a good "start from here mark" and chose the 1.5" from max mark just by guessing... thus far I have been happy and not dragging too much with my EC LTH

The fronts are cake, just throw them on and adjust to your liking

Hope that gives you an idea of how to get it near sport II or a mark to judge how much higher or lower to go with

(Yea my car is a dirty mess, I know)

That stance is perfect! Thank you. I'll try that and see how it goes.

No problem at all, this is why I love forums... You can learn from people's "misfortunes" or their "fortunes" lol

I was just happy to have guessed in an ok spot and not have had to go back again and do it all over just to get it rolling because I went too low...

Like all springs they settle a little bit over a few days to a week of driving.

Glad to help Joe!

Measurement Confirmation

Since a picture's worth a thousand words...

... is this the measurement you were referencing? It's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but the distance from the bottom of the threads to the plastic surface where the spring mounts is almost exactly 1.5", as set from the BC Racing factory. Both mounts are adjusted and locked at the exact same position, so maybe they took your advice?

Yes that is it exactly, I don't think I measured the plastic piece though. You are basically right there. Sorry for the delay, bet you have those suckers slapped on already

I wish! I have been too busy the last two nights to get into the garage to work on it. Tonight the teardown begins!
