From a C32 to an E55

As each day goes by I must confess that I become more and more confused by the lack of dependability by certain components on the vehicle.
The C32 was fully loaded and everything worked flawlessly.
As soon as the '04 E55 came out I had to have one. I personally don't think there is a better looking vehicle in its class. I just wish it wouldn't forget where it was, occassionally stall..(once. While the wife was pulling out into traffic), Would shut any open windows by remote without standing 1" from the sensor, and would give me a short blast of the horn to reassure me the doors are locked. I am sure the kinks will work themselves out......right?
I love my car. Really.

Mercedes now needs 4 years to work all the bugs out of their new models. Maybe the car to get is the 2006 E55!

I had a flawless C32, but then again it didn't have Command and I've only had Command system issues. Mercedes was great about fixing them. I hope your problems get ironed out. Problems aside, the E55 is far superior in capabilities and enjoyment in my opinion.

I absolutely agree on the superiority of the E55 and love the sensation of being behind the wheel even with the gremlins. I've seen alot of messages about chips for more power etc. The idea of more power is cool but I would be hesitent about altering the performance of a vehicle that already has quite the appetite for "jet fuel".

How funny - I assumed MB had worked out those issues, as I've had a beef with these two things in particular on my 99 E55.

How hard is it to have the horn beep when you press the doorlock? I find myself walking away from my car backwards, repetedly pressing the remote to see if I can see the lights flash to ensure I hit it. C'mon, tell me I'm not the only one!

Oh yea, that and the still-after-2-years-counter-intuitive fact that to push the door locks up (open), you push the "down" side of the button on the dash. I've contemplated asking my dealer to flip the switch because it drives me so crazy.

I guess I'm a creature of habit.

I sure hope they changed that, at least.
