Chlorhexidine mouth wash would not damage plastics etc., might need an RX ask your dentist. It kills microbes like nobody's business. Try it in an aerosol sprayer. Use it sparingly and it should help. Disclosure: I have not tried this myself, my A/C smells fine.

Hey all,

I've got some light smell - likely not too strong. But went ahead and bough Klima Cleaner anyways. It says on the bottle and their website that I could just remove cabin air filter, insert the pipe through the blower fan, and spray there. Is that gonna work on W211s? I know how to remove the filter and how to remove the blower motor if needed. Does anyone know whether the evaporator core is gonna be right behind the blower motor?

Not recommended, look for evaporator core replacement videos to see where the evaporator core is located.
If you dump it into the blower you are likely to:
a. Clean the grease off the bearings
B. Have it pool down and leak into the car

You are supposed to empty it passed the blower. If I take the blower motor out, and spray it inside, are you saying it will leak into the car instead of cleaning the system and dripping out from the bottom?

Been there, done that, still unable to rid of the smell. It turned out the valve cover gasket leak was the root of the problem. The smell is gone after I replaced the valve cover gasket.

Oh ok, I thought you were going to remove the filter and spray it there.
The blower is to the side of the evaporator so you could remove the blower and route tubing to reach it.
You could also disconnect the drain coming from the casing which sits directly below the evap.

Yes, this should be only for musky smell that comes when the AC is just turned off (or just started).
If it smells a little burnt that's something else.

Yeah, will do remove the blower motor if can’t push the tube through the blower fan blades. The goal is to feed the tube until I reach the evaporator. I hope the foam will come out from the drain under the car, and not through the air vents inside the cabin

look for a detailer who offers Bactakleen for the AC, it removes all bad fungus and bacteria’s from AC. Second, just look around for a well known professional detailer who can do odor removal. Your carpet may have some foul smell that comes when heat occurs etc.

buying an e320 wagon
My car had a terrible noxious smell. Turned out the AC drains were disintegrating. I went to the hardware store and got 3/4 ID tubing for $2 a foot and made new ones. They worked perfectly. The old drains themselves were what was smelling.

THey
