Sold 04 E55 on ebay, but non payer...
I put my 04 E55 on ebay last week and sure enough it sold within 1 day. It has been 2 weeks now and the only email I received from the guy is that he was pre approved from household finance. What an A$$. I am picking up my 04 SL55 in 2 weeks and I thought the E55 would have been gone by now.
Ebay is good for somethings, but some of these non bidders are a pain in the neck. You have to wait a min of 7 days to file a non payer alert, then wait another 10 days to get a ebay credit.
If you guys have something on ebay watch out for the screen name inthemixlv.

What were the details? I was bidding on one last week but lost out the last 2 hours. (outbid) What was the final bid price?? How many miles and what options are on the car. I'm in a Lease now but have ability to get out anytime!! BTW - Is the black leather the same as the "Charcoal Nappa"? Please let me know - I may be interested.

Household Finance for an 04 Mercedes??? That's funny, although I know upsetting for you in the circumstance. This guy obviously does this just to jerk people around. Wonder how much of that goes on.

What a pain, but you live and you learn.

Well guys...just as a side note..household finance might just mean he was taking out a line of credit on the house he owns. Because its a home equity loan, he would be able to obtain a better interest rate than if he obtained a car loan.
So it doesnt sound illogical. You just have to watch who bids on your items and what their feedback is. In this case, it seems the acct was hijacked.

That happends all the time. I wish/wonder if there is an option to where the seller can opt to approve a buyer before the "Buy it Now" actually goes into effect. That would be nice and would save alot of hassle.
I sold (or attempted to) a truck on ebay and the same type of deal happened. What sucked was that they charged my credit card before I received the credit back. Therefore I now have an $80 credit on ebay that I will most likely never use. I hate throwing money away like that.

Thanks for the info Viper and sorry to hear about your bumm deal... As a long time seller on ebay myself (over 568 positive feedback transactions) I know things don't always go as planned.... Actualy, ebay now has a new feature where during a "buy it now" auction you can now "request immediate payment" once the buy it now price is bid....This way if the buyer doesn't come up with the cash, then the auction continues as scheduled and with no interuption and the hastle of going through the motions of getting your listing fees and final value auction fees back from ebay.... Don't give up on ebay because of this minor set back, its really a great place to do business.... Good luck.

Hey Hell on a Harley,
How does that new feature work???
I plan to relist the item and see if I get any of the people that were interested in it before to bid again.
Thanks, I agree, EBAY is a great place. I wanted to put the screen name out for everyone, incase this is a scam or something.

Start the listing process over again, or in your case go to your "closed auction" page or "auction ended" notification email from ebay and click the "relist this item" tab or go to your "my ebay" page and there you will see the "relist this item" tab... This will contain all your original info (description) and pictures so you don't have to do it all over again... Within the pages of the listing info you will see this "new" feature "request immediate payment"... There is also a link provided on this page so you can read about how this works... I have not yet used it personaly, but did read the info provided and sounded pretty good.....

Oh, and I've also sold many new and used motorcycles for the dealership as well on ebay, untill that is Harley Davidson motor Co. put their foot down and literaly shut down all internet sales of all "new" bikes from all dealers nation wide.... Although we can still sell used bikes...
