Identity Crisis
Wanted to share the weekend my E55 had in Vegas.
I had a 2002 Carrera before getting the 55 and I remained active on the 996 Rennlist forum. At one point last year, I was looped into organizing the informal 996 get together in Vegas. I ended up being the guy getting it all tied together with one small detail...I no longer had a 996 or a Porsche.
So, The Hammer went to play with his adopted German family. He took the #1 spot in the Porsche-only line up, people were curious. Was this the never before seen Porsche built W211...who knows. He rolled on the track with his adopted family and Bruce Jenner's GT3 RS. His adopted family was a weird one. All of them except for one with big ears on the butt could not keep up with him at full throttle in the straight line, but could change direction with alarming ease. Hammer did his best to fit in and enjoy his time with the new German fam.

As a Porsche guy I have to say that is very cool. For years I was completely unaware of these Mercedes muscle cars. I bet you opened some eyes in the 996 club too.

No, after C&C and laps at Speed Vegas we went through the Valley of Fire National Park.
True that about the muscle car status. Highways kings...not with speed limiter in place
One gent, drove his 996 cab from Orlando, FL. He quote "Slowed Down" to snap a speedometer picture at 160MPH even. Said he averaged 135MPH through NM. He is a pilot though, so make sense.
