It may be time to sell the wagon - pricing thoughts?
So it may be time to sell our wagon. It has been a love affair since 2007 (it's a 2005 E55), but it is aging and my wife will soon be commuting to a new job.
So, off it may go.
The challenge is pricing. The online pricing guides are clueless for a wagon, so I don't even know where to start.
It's in good shape, but not perfect, befitting its 12 years on earth.
Black/Black, 115K miles, reasonabily well equipped.
Needs new ashtrays in the rear. That's the only visible issue. Had the rear bumper repainted as the clear coat peeled.
Any ideas or thoughts? Happy to answer questions.
I'm going to miss this car.
So, off it may go.

I'm in the same boat ... The wagon was my DD and now has become my weekend/fun car. Feeling the urge to get something with 2 doors and no roof for the weekend/fun car. There was a decent comp on BAT a couple of months back, think it sold for somewhere around 23-24k or so.
Edit: Here's the BAT auction. I would expect a less modified version to maybe pull a little bit more... also sounds like this car may need the rear suspension addressed in the near future.

As for a weekend fun car, I highly recommended the C63S convertible. I simply love mine.
Now as soon as I can figure a cost effective way to put a 3rd row in a W212 E63 wagon....

I'm in Tampa and also have a buddy in st pete with a black e55 wagon. At least 4 of us here! I'm leaning toward something with a dual clutch gearbox.
My buddy woth the black car is the reason I searched for and bought mine.

I will. I'm not home, so won't be able to for a bit.
As for the poster wanting something with a DCT, drive the C63S. Shifts are immaculate. First time at the strip I ripped of an 11.9 quarter.

GLWS, I just bought the silver e55 wagon that was on BAT just as an add, had 170k miles and full records. Im third owner. The guy i bought it from owned it since 2007 and bought it with 52k miles. He gave me about 25k in receipts. I got mine for what I think is a STEAL. but 23-25k seems reasonable for yours depending on overall condition. This might be one the only amgs i have bought that I could actually make money on it. Ha ha. Dont plan on every selling though.

I don't own the Double nickel, but I'd say for a maximum payday ensure maintenance is up to date, and when you post pics a clean ride would definitely go a long way.
just my thoughts.

I don't drive my wagon often..so occasionally I toy with the idea of selling it. As soon as I look at it, and drive it, that immediately goes away. I love this *****.
Its good to know that values have appreciated since I purchased though!!

Bought my 2006 E55 AMG Wagon on BaT last December. It had 83,000 mi then but was flawless. I paid $22.5. My bidding limit was $24K. BaT seems to have cornered the market on these and E63 Wagons, so you get great exposure. This is the second car I've bought there, both easily done.

Damn, Frank, that's an amazing price! I paid $28.5 for my 06 wagon with 66K on it a few months back. It also was flawless, with all dealer records since new. He even replaced the windshield wipers! It would be amazing to be into the wagon at your price. You'll be able to get your money out of it for years, if you ever decide to sell.

In all seriousness it just depends on how fast you want to sell it. 20k and it would be gone in under a week. 30k you may sit on it for a few weeks or months. When it comes to it though these cars are supply and demand if you have the only one for sale, and someone really wants one. By someone I mean everyone. They will pay.

Not so sure w/over 170k on the dial? I understand the fact it's a E55 Wagon, but the miles will scare off a few buyers. Of course for 18 -20k it's tempting, but at 30k (for me) I'd pass. Still trying to figure out how you managed to get s E55 Wagon for 12K?

All sounds pretty well in line with my thoughts on value ... I''m dropping mine off next week at a local European shop so two locals can check it out/have it checked out. If neither of them buy it I'll put together a f/s ad.
