Unhappy Elecrtical problems?

Please tell me this isn't happening!!

I've had my car for three days and suddenly today, when I turn off the car, the seat does not move back as it is supposed to when I take out the key. The wheel moves up and I checked and reset the settings several times to no avail. I called the dealer and he said, ...bring it over and we'll check it out". Ayy Caramba!!!!

I am praying this is not the start of a bad trend. I just traded my 2000 M5 in large part because of too many annoying issues including electronic gremlins.

I cannot go through this again. Any hope??

depending on how long your legs are or how far back the seat memory is set - the seat does not go back. I'm 6'1" and though my steering wheel goes up, my seat does not go back. As a test you could set your seat several inches forward, put that in another memory setting and see if it goes back from that position. good luck!!

Make sure you're using the same key every time as each key is programmed differently. You can distinguish the two keys by the top, the valet release button is different in color. One is black and one is grey.

Just back from the dealer. They told me that this is a "software glitch" in that the computer sets itself for limited to no seat movement even though I had not programmed this. They" reset " the software and now its fine. Tech told me he has seen this in CL and SL's often.
We'll see what happens
