255/40/R18 for Winter tires all around?
Hello all,
Just wondering if running 255/40/R18 would be an issue in winter?
I have summer tires and last winter I used 245 all around in Winter but this year, I need new tires. So I'm wondering if I go taller all around would that be an issue or I'd be ok?
Btw the car is on ROW mode-which apparently a bit lower than NA mode.
Please let me know.

I always thought people actually did this during winter but with only your response I'd assume this is not common.

People don't normally go wider in the winter. Think of snow shoes, wider tires float on snow, not great for snow traction. You go with thinner tires in the winter, it sinks through the snow, more weight per square foot etc.

Very true and useful information. I assumed the OP was going for appearance over function. Good advice: stick with the factory recommended size, it always works.
