Waiting for the Boat
My dealer says car is through production and waiting to be put on a boat. He was non-committal ("Middle of May") as to when I can take delivery.
Any thoughts/experience as to how much longer I should expect to wait? (its killing me).

Well..
SInce you are on the east coast your time will not be too long. THe issue lies in how long it sits waiting for a boat. My E55 sat at the port for 2.5 weeks waiting for the boat to leave. Once on the water the car will get to the port in 2 weeks +days and then 4-5 days from then it will be at the dealership.
For me (on the west coast) I have to wait another 2-3 weeks for my cars to show up becuase the boat stops at 3 other stops before showing up in Long Beach! Talk about a terrible wait!
Good luck. You car will be here in less than a month. Should be worth it!

I'm getting brilliant silver/black with everything except distronic. Guess I'll use the t-bone method fot the satellite radio. I am trying to gat a separate CL/CLK antenna to slip under the rear deck. If that doesn't work I'm willing to drop the headliner and install it under the panorama roof - if a location can be found.

Dealer emailed me saying with any luck it should be in by end of next week.

Most sales personnel don't care to track customer's vehicles that closely because it takes time away from selling more cars and there is nothing they can do to change the process anyway.
Hopefully your car will arrive soon.
Good color choice! I am getting the Tectite/Charcoal combination on my E500 which arrived in the Port of Jacksonville yesterday..

do not know if you got your car yet or not, but when i ran a net star the only dealer getting anything remotely close to what you ordered is in ny and he got that car last month on the 27th, get the last 7 digits of the vin and i will gladly let you know where your car is

It's here!! Just picked up "The Beast" from the dealer - I'm so excited. I'm going to get the AMG lighted door sills to make up for the lack of lights on the external mirrors. Don't know why but I always thought that was cool..................
