Just purchased my first E55 AMG
Hello all,
Figured I would post on here and try to get more involved in the AMG community. I'm not new to MB but I am new to AMG. Since I'm turning 30 yrs old in a few months, I wanted to drive something with a bit more "pep in its step". I'm not a fan of the new MBs in general and I really dislike turbos. Naturally I opted for this timeless, supercharged, AMG tuned masterpiece of a beast.
I searched for months until two weeks ago, I purchased my first 2005 E55 AMG. It came totally stock with two sets of identical 20" chrome twin-spoke S65 type wheels, which I overall dislike and plan to replace. Bought it FSBO with 80,450 miles. Had MB of Plano charge me $375 for a PPI, which I was a little disappointed in after I saw that they missed some small items.
Overall the car is in excellent condition for a 12 year car. It does have a couple of scratches, one dent and foggy headlamps. It also came with new-ish Michellin tires, the original manual and clear Texas title.
I've driven the car for about 450 miles so far and it is a dream! I will post pictures of the car as soon as I get her first wash, detail and license plates.
For now, I am searching the forums because Service D is due, which includes a brake flush. Normally I do all my work on my MBs but since this is my first car with SBC, I read that I need to hook it up to DAS so the SBC pump can be flushed as well.
Please let me know if anyone on here can recommend the best solution for the SBC flush. I am open to visiting an MB indy shop with a DAS tool, buying a DAS tool myself or borrowing/renting a DAS tool from a forum member. I want to do the work myself to make sure its done correctly and to save some money for the extra fuel :P , so going back to the stealership is my last resort.
Lastly, let me know if there is an AMG meet-up in Dallas, TX. I would love to come out and meet some of you folks in person!

Well happy "early" birthday, bought yourself a nice present. Read, read, then read some more. Learn to use the advanced search and you will be able to find almost anything. Shardal sells a star like reader that is often recommended, he's on mbworld.

I can probably put one together for you too, C3 Muxes have come down in price a lot recently.
