I haven't looked for numbers on the '03's or '04's yet, but among the w210's there were between 500 and 1500 per year coming to the USA. I'd guess the '03's were over 1000 and less than 1750.
Definitely more exclusive production than M5.

information on US production numbers seems somewhat an industry secret for current AMG cars and the W211 E55. The old W210 E55 numbers of 500 per year seem to be mor highly publisized.

2003 E55 Sales
At yesterday's AMG challenge at Pocono Raceway AMG product manager stated that 2024 model year 2003 E55's were sold in the US. I did not ask about 2004's.
No plans to sell E55 wagon in the US at this time.

The Aust numbers were 103 E55's, 117 SL55's, 393 AMG cars total.
Sales are restricred by supply still, with limited production allocations to dealers.

2002 E55, Brilliant Silver/Charcoal and Grey, All option except Parktronic.
Perspective
Well, if you take the 11k cars that they built, divide by the number of models that AMG offers (9) it comes to ~1220 per model line.
Then if you have ~12 major markets with 4 dealers per market that is only about 25 cars per dealer.
Obviously this is an approximation but one can see that the numbers get pretty small quickly.
Considering we are getting the best of mass customization we don't have too much to complain about. Not saying we won't complain anyway. It is nice to see that the market is strong and that the AMG line is prospering.

I believe a good estimate is 1/3 SL55, 1/3 E55 and 1/3 other AMG models. The E and SL are by far the most popular AMG cars.

I can't believe there were that many.
The model year was short, if it was a calendar year estimate there were very few 2002 E55's sold in 2003, and based on my dealer's deliveries that would have been an unreachable number.
