2.65 vs 2.82 vs 3.06 rear axle for 0-60 real world acceleration
I'll be taking delivery of a 2004 e55 wagon from Japan this week and i want to achieve best possible real life 0-60 times (as well as 1/4 miles, but that's not that critical) with it with bolt on mods. I'm sure I will be adding Quaife or Wavetrack LSD for better traction. It seems that by now TCU tuners know how to make various rear axle ratios work on e55 (at least some claim). Will swapping in 2.82 or 3.06 give me better real life 0-60 times on dry asphalt and top notch max wide UHP rubber like Michelin PS4s or Pirelli Pzero or will it be too much wheel torque and just spinning wheels. Worse highway mileage is what i'm willing to live with, but the car needs to be safe to drive in rain as well, hence no semi slicks (its still a practical family car

.
If yes, is 2.82 the optimal ratio or will i have efficient grip and even better acceleration with 3.06? 3.23 i find overkill.
Thoughts?
