interior parts from facelift car
Hi,
I recently bought an e55 wagon from 2004 and am currently driving a facelift e550 from 2006. I must say the interior on e55 looks in many ways inferior and it is missing several extras i used to enjoy a lot. So my quiestion is if part swaps can be easily done on following items.
1) door panelling. I´m a bit appaled by the fact how poorly the wood aligns with center console wood. are the mounting points & connectors the same?
2) Seats. I have full spec seats (heat/cool/nappa/massage/corner support) in 550, while e55 has the standard multi contour seat . Are the mounting points the same and electrics plug and play (also cooled seats have the cooling switch in center concole is it easily retrofitable)? will rear seats be also straight swap?
3) Distronic, are they different pre and post facelift?
4) gear brake function (e55 doesnt seem to have that). Is it software based or only comes with 7 speed trannies?
5) Steering wheel is a PITA i know but has anyone done it on early models?
Cheers!

2001 E320 Wagon, 2006 LBZ Silverado, 2007 E63 (sold), 2001 E55 (sold)
There's no such car as a 2006 E550. The E550 wasn't introduced until the 2007 model year.
You either have a 2006 E500 or a 2007 E550.

Here in Freedom Land (lol) it doesn't matter if it was built and registered in 2006, it'd still be a 2007 model. Model year makes all the difference, not when it was registered.

Steering wheel is ridiculously easy to remove. I think some 04 and 05+ models can take the facelift wheel and bag with no issues, but since you have an 04, I think you may need to change the module for it in the steering column.
