How to move car after Front Shock Collapse/Failure
While driveing my E63 my front shock collapsed (blew out) but got it home OK. I noticed that the shock now is resting on its internal bump stop. Problem is the wheel is so far up inside the fender that if I turn the wheel ever so slightly it starts pushing on the fender and if I go further damage will definately occur. To get the car into the street for the flatbed truck to pick it up will require me to turn the wheel to get it out of my driveway.
Has anyone encountered this problem and what was the solution to prevent damageing my fender and possibly the tire as well?
Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions along with Happy New Year 2018!!!!!

I've jacked up the front from the side jacking pads and then put a piece of 2x4 wood above the upper control arm and the slowly lowered it down making sure that the wood wedges up against the top part of the shock tower. Mercedes actually makes a hard rubber piece that does the same thing part# 220-327-12-30.
