W211 Interior rattles

Well it's taken a couple of months but I think I have my E55 pretty much debugged (command software reflash, supercharger squeek, brake replacement due to squeal, T.P.M.S..etc).... except for one item.

I have an interior rattle in the drivers side seatbelt anchor. The adjustable slide mechanism rattles regardless of position, and due to the fact it is right by my left ear It is driving me nuts!

Does anyone out there have a similar problem or know of a good fix?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My E55 is absolutely rattle free.

With your seatbelt anchor rattle, if you press on to the anchor unit, can you make it go away?

I discovered one annoying squeak/rattle close to my head when driving and had it completely fixed by the dealer.

It was the sunroof rail (my E55 does not have the pano roof) that was defective causing a ticking sound over rough roads. If you press onto the headliner area right above your head when driving, the noise goes away. It was a simple and easy fix.

What I like about my car is the rattle free and absolute silent ride over any road surface. I have the stock tires.

My car is also completely quiet. Almost eerily so. W210, switch to Michelin PS2's and it will get even better

How did they fix the supercharger squeek? My dealer told me that was normal and nothing could be done about it.

If I push on the seatbelt anchor it will stop the rattle while under pressure. I have tried sliding it's position up and down, wd40, etc. I guess it will have to go under the knife at the dealership

Good luck with the supercharger fix Jim1956.....It works great!

Yeah, PS2 is on my agenda, a bit hard to justify with only 3k miles on my Conti's right now .

After the dealer rebalanced the tires, the Conti's have quiet down so there's less incentive. Are the PS2 that much better?!

Did you upsize to 275 or left them at 265 factory?

I'm really curious why they went from 275 in the W210 E55 to 265 in the W211 E55?

They are that much better. I only had 500 miles on my Conit's!! I left them at factory. I actaully have a set of SO-3's (275) on AMG wheels that I had bought for my E500, but I spoke with Luke at tirerack and although he said I could use the 275's he thought the ESP light would come on more often. The SO-3's are also not a heavy load tire. Not sure if that or the 275 size is a huge deal, but i'm kind of **** when it comes to that kind of thing. I'll keep the stock conti's and use them in the winter months. No need to worry about snow as I have a company car. A mighty Ford Taurus Let me tell you, it is not easy getting into that car when I have the E55 in the garage.
