My E55 is on the way
The dealer called me today and said my E55 is on the ship and should be arriving in port in Delaware on Tuesday or Wednesday next week and they expect it at the dealership about a week after that. Now I am starting to get excited.

Congrats
Have you bought anything in advance for the car? Any mods planned?
Check out what ColorChange has bought waiting for his Porsche. That's what I call being prepared.

Now that is impressive for not even having the Porsche yet. I plan on replacing the hood star with a flat hood badge but otherwise will leave it stock for awhile. I will replace the Continental tires before long too.

It will be one of the last 04 models which is fine with me since the 05 will no longer include sheduled maintainance.

HAs anyone seen wether the "decontenting" that other people are talking about applies to the AMG cars?
ie - No more lights in the bottom of the side mirrors etc.

Just some food for thought. The difference in resale value in a newer model year can be $4,000 -$7,000. Even if you are leasing and want to terminate early(you never know) the 05 will bring you the added $'s. The scheduled maintenance may not be the best value if you still have a choice.

2004 E55 tectite grey/charcoal
I did consider waiting for 05 but the color I wanted Tectite grey will no longer be available. It is being replaced by Flint grey which will not be available until September according to my dealer. I plan on keeping the car for quite awhile and yes I did get a bit of a discount for taking one of the last 04 models. The dealer also sells BMW's and I bought a Z4 for my wife a couple months ago and got a reasonable deal on that as well.
