Iridium Silver 2006 E55 window tint

Any input on tint color for 2006 Iridium Silver E55? I am looking for sleek and elegant, not so much "Check Me Out". But am open to hearing about metallic colors or whatever. Car is stock and looks like some very light factory tint is now on the windows. My initial idea was medium standard black tint.

If it has the factory bluish tint go with 35% all around. Just enough while letting the factory tint show through

Thanks, 35% it is all around+sunroof. Will leave windshield alone although I was surprised to see some people do it.

I prefer no tint and like the blue glass. Everyone tints their windows these days too. I'd rather run no tint and think cars look better without it.

One of the first comments I seem to get about the wagon is that it needs tint. Nope, that is not going to happen. Dark tint all around just adds a certain "cheapness" to me (not sure how to explain it).

edit: I was bs'ing with one of the sales guys at my work today. He said he saw a new (guessing W213) E63 wagon the other day. He said it looked badass and he loved the blue tinted windows on it. This is coming from a car/motorcycle guy, but he knows next to nothing about Mercedes. He's got an eye for motorcycle stuff and has built many of his own bikes.

Very light tint lets factory stuff show right through it.

I have my rear windows tinted dark but the front original light blue. It looks really good in my opinion.
Not too much and it's legal.

I like this tint, it's not dark as you see still see thru it. So It's not an issue to the police either. I have buddies that get harassed because of there extremely dark tint. And I do like the blueish factory tint, but if my memory serves me correctly, my 07 E63 didn't come with the blueish tint, only the E55 did.

I put 40% Huper Optik on my E63. Expensive stuff. Still can’t really see a blue hue anymore; if I had to do it again, not sure I’d tint her.

I went with Spectra Photosync 55%. Was looking to keep the factory blue tint while getting protection and I achieved just that.

thanks. the factory blue tint color in the windows is hidden/gone now. thats what i was going for as I had seen many Iridium Silver with blacker windows that looked nice. I dont expect any issues with police even at 30%(I incorrectly stated 35% earlier, sorry). Tint is Lumar Stratos(new?). Supposed to have excellent heat protection which helps in Southern California. the demo at the store had a wheel that spun around with different tints on it and a heat lamp behind the wheel. The stratos tint let the least amount of heat through. now, hot days are tolerable when you get into the car.
I did not have to install felt on each window to prevent the scratching effect from the window up/down action. as a result, the install also did not require any door panel removal or adjustments.

I definitely recommend not going over board. I bought mine tinted way, wayyyy too much. I hate it, especially at night. Can't see a damn thing.

Haha thanks, they are Lorinsor LM6's. Not a huge fan of the "fan blade" look, I'd be willing to trade for stock rims lol They were what the previous owner had on it.

dot matrix coverage

the dot matrix coverage is good. some pics from about 10" away with iphone. I am picky and there are a few spots that are not perfect. Does not bother me. But while taking the pictures, I noticed that i can get inside the car and press down a bit and improve the tint over the spots that didnt stick really well. maybe ill do some more of that over the weekend. same goes for the wires in the glass where the tint doesnt exactly conform to the exact shape of the metal/heater wire stuff in the glass. also, on one picture of the rear door window is where they cut an arc in the tint vs taking the door apart and rubber off to completely cover that small window. Doesnt look bad either. i have some bright lights on the car for the pictures so it usually isnt that noticeable.

I would be more than happy to trade if you were closer, I have a set of ceramic coated stocks laying around. By the background of the picture, I'm assuming you are quite a distance from PA haha.

What wheels and size slicks do you have on back? I am in the market to buy a set of aluminium wheels and slicks so I can go to Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove WI Also what was your best 1/4 time and R/T?
