Custom Grill thoughts?
Hello All,
I saw on-line an updated grill conversion for the '96-'99 w210. Is there one available out there for the '00-'02 models? I am speeking of the kit that gives our cars the "CL look"
see pictures @ http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT
If not...I was thinking of color matching black sections with car.

sloloco - here's mine https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...0&pagenumber=3 (at the bottom of the page).
I bought it on ebay. It was made by Schatz in Germany and matches the original in quality (ie 'medium' compared to Lorinser, etc.)
If you keep an eye on ebay one will come up sooner or later.

Hello TJC,
That is a very clean car. We don't have an E55 of that color on the Central Coast. As a matter of fact my friend at the dealer in service says there are only 4 AMG's in all of San Luis Obispo County. Do you remember what you paid for the grill? and, did it include the new emblem for atop the hood?

sloloco - I'm told that Desert Silver is a VERY unusual color for a W210. I didn't get to choose it - car was refused by the original purchaser (????) but I like it.
I paid $135 for the grill ... which as far as I could see was exactly the same as OEM except for the center star.
Flat hood badges of high quality can be had by sending $150 to amgbadge@yahoo.com - a trustworthy guy IMO.

Yeah - I had one. Total garbage. $40 on ebay totally wasted.
We're talking REAL quality from amgbadge@yahoo.com. Heavy enameled chrome plated brass or equivalent.
The 'resin dome' version on ebay doesn't compare and will look like sh@t in a year.
I'd post a pic of the *good* one but I'm not allowed for some reason ... max. size 1 byte (???)
