Exclamation supercharger leak and noise

Hey Everyone. My daily driver is an 04 with 143k miles of pure driving enjoyment. It's been in my stable for 10 years.

My sc just started leaking through the front pulley bolt (really smelly fluid, so it is sc fluid) and is now making a horrible noise. It threw the belt and luckily didn't damage anything on the way down.

My question is this, does the supercharger normally spin with the rotation of the engine while the engine is idling (without belt)? Can it be made to stop (spinning) somehow without damaging it further? I think it spins passively when the belt is off, just need someone to chime in that knows more.

I've had the car for ten years and have kept the supercharger oil fresh and the pulley bearing is somewhat fresh too, with a Nachi I installed about three years ago.

I can park the car for now if there isn't a way to drive it, belt off, and the supercharger not spin.

Any advice or know how would be really appreciated. Thank you. James

The blower vanes will be forced to spin from vacuum in the intake, even when the clutch is not "engaged" per say. Just the intake air flowing through them

So trying to stop the clutch from spinning via a large hose clamp or whatever won't keep the screws from spinning inside. It sounds like a popcorn popper when the engine is on.

It would probably eventually cause it to stall, if not at idle, definitely while under load due to lack of air.
