I'd suggest two things, both for free, which will make the car feel different before you decide to push it into an empty carpark and walk away from it.

Try the sneaky ECU reset, then as well as disconnecting the battery for 30mins. Both will reset the trans adaptations and make the car feel a bit lighter on its feet.

My brakes improved in feel and bite with a fluid flush. I also did pads and rotors however they weren't so worn to indicate that they were a cause of average brake feel or grab.

If you are going for a quick pull while in sport (standard) or comfort, hold down the left shift paddle and it will auto pull you into what ever gear it thinks is best. It is a bit faster and will auto shift up for you at the limiter too. Once done hold the upshift paddle to go back into auto mode.

Edit: DTK is a known company. Go on FB to the AMG enthusiasts page, lots or knowledge there and an open forum. Won't get bias and will hear pros/cons of any company and parts there.

^^^^^ thank you guys for the advice. I will do the ecu reset. I got an appt for the gas tank recall at mercedes dealer on wednesday. Basically telling me i have to pay upfront 185.00 and then i might get that back if my gas tank does indeed have issues but recall will not cover washers if they need to be replaced.

Washers? I'm an MB tech and I have no idea what they are talking about. There are no washers that would need to be replaced to perform this repair, and even if there were, it should be 100% covered. Assuming you have a leak from the fuel tank/pump assembly it should be covered 100% parts and labor (you should not pay anything, not even a diagnostic charge). Any and all parts and labor necessary to properly complete the repair should be covered by MB (this includes all gaskets, seals, exhaust clamps, etc). If they break anything performing the repair, the dealer should cover the cost of any necessary repairs to bring the vehicle back to the exact same condition it was in when you brought it to them (if they're competent, this is very unlikely, but even good techs break things sometimes). The only exception I can think of would be if you have any damage or modifications that will make the job more difficult or will require replacing parts that aren't necessary under normal conditions (for example, an aftermarket exhaust system that is completely welded and cannot be disassembled to remove the fuel tank). This service adviser most likely has no idea what he's talking about (they usually know less about cars than you do), but if they try to charge you for anything related to a fuel tank warranty repair, they are trying to scam you. They can, of course, charge you for any extra services that they recommend while you're there and they may automatically charge for washer fluid or something like that, but as long as you tell them you don't want anything extra, there should be no charge.

That said, if your fuel tank isn't leaking, they could (and should) charge you diagnostic time to verify this (although many techs will just do the repair anyway, rather than even trying to verify it's leaking, since it's a common problem and it's very difficult to prove that it's not leaking). Also, if the repair isn't covered by warranty (for example, if it's leaking due to modifications or collision damage), they should charge you diagnostic time (and the full cost of the repair if you do it).

In short: any warranty repairs are paid for 100% by MB so they should not be charging you anything for a warranty repair. If it's not a warranty repair, they will charge you. If they try to charge you for any warranty repairs, demand to speak to the service manager (the actual manager, NOT the service adviser) and tell them that you will be calling MB.

Haha.

This is what they are looking for. This is my car. We don't have the repair covered here so it is about to receive JB weld today and hope for the best.

That is exactly what mine looked like before getting fixed. Strangely enough, I never smelled it. My housemate was able to smell it in the garage after I'd fill the car up.

I only smelt it once or twice in the last year, my pregnant wife on the other hand...

looks same here on mine too,, only the filter side on mine looks like it was replaced already -- nice/clean and white -- Tuesday to the dealership for me and have to check polarity of striped wires thanks to Birdwell -- seems like its not an if just a when these things start to leak -- no wonder why MB is extending warranty -- not sure why the other countries did not jump on the law suit

What year is your car? , check with the dealer and see if the car had computer updates performed. Some 2005 and later E55,s were detuned for warrantee purposes. search " wont do a burnout". I have a 2004 and my car has never had any "updates" and will do smoking burnouts at will. Call Anthony Lawshee at Race IQ and see about a tune. Have him check the torque limiters in the TCU. Best of luck with your E55.

Is it parked in the same spot? When I park in the street in front of my g/f's house the front of my car sits high. If I park in the driveway it drops it down quite a bit (front wheels just tucked). I've learned to ignore small differences in how it sits. "Just lower" I wouldn't worry too much.

Try leaving it for a few days and see what happens. There's an E350 that I see by mouse house all the time. In the morning it's sitting fine, by afternoon the rear suspension is bottomed out.

ya ive noticed this about these cars im parked on a slight decline so sometimes i think the car will level itself out but sometimes it just goes the opposite and looks worse then it is. Today in the morning after being parked from 2pm yesterday till 2pm today car was just fine. I notice when i have it at its lowest ride height sometimes it will sit lower outback but if i have it in comfort mode its fine.

I got my car back from Van Nuys Mercedes and they got my fuel tank done under the extended warranty. I'm pretty happy I got that done. Now its at my regular mechanic shop getting tranny oil and filter replaced, engine oil, diff oil, spark plugs and some other stuff looked at that the dealer recommended as level 9-10. Dealer had mentioned engine and tranny mounts are really bad, I've noticed nothing car has zero vibration shifter doesn't move around hear no thump or anything, seems to idle very smooth but I'm gonna have him check anyway. They also mentioned I have a level 10 A/C leak but haven't noticed anything and A/C compressor was changed 10k miles ago maybe they connected it wrong might have a leak at the connections, not sure on that. They also mentioned I have 3 rims bent and that doesn't surprise me since it was the same with my stock e550 wheels expected the same for the E55 as well. I really want to keep up the maintenance on this car before I put any mods to it. I need to take it back to him for a squeak from the drivers front when I hit a speed bump and get the button to work on the rear trunk to close as well as I don't think the dynamic seats work either.

yes for sure, i talked to him about the header install. He looked at the mounts and mentioned there in good shape and you have zero vibration. Told me to hold off till i install headers. Some of my spark plugs looked really black and had some build up and others were light. Only took a picture of a couple light ones. Also some plugs were NGK and others were Mercedes.
