I’ve only driven it for about 20 minutes so my opinion might be a bit premature. Either way from the outside in person, sounds deep throaty and just right not too loud at all. Inside the car there is drone as your getting up to speed and when you cruise it goes away. I thought it would drone on the freeway but it doesnt. At idle you would not at all know anythings been done its very quiet. Now at Wide Open Throttle inside the car i cant tell a big difference that was another suprise, thought it would be very loud at WOT but didn’t notice a big difference at all. I do underatand why people do a J Pipe to kill the drone as you get up to speed but in my opnion its really not that bad. Overall it was worth it and very happy with the sound. Just to add my friends 2017 Charger SRT bone stock sounds louder, lol.

lol no, i think with the resonator off as well it will have too much drone. I’ve heard lots of people do it though, i think getting older now I’ve learned to balance things a bit. When i was younger i had several Corvette’s, Camaro’s and M3’s full bolt ons and can here me from blocks away. Suprised im not death as a result.

I am actually glad the E55 is as quiet as it is. I think I am over trying to make increased noise with little to no performance gain. I have the Weistec CU and underdrive pulley, good enough for me!

I do agree with you on that one I did enjoy it in certain instances when it was quiet. When I drove the E63 before buying this E55 I thought the E63 just sounded right and not too loud at all. I know most will say its not loud or sound like anything at all but it was good to me. I figured not at all for performance gains since there isn't any but when I get on the gas it should sound like a V8 or rumble a bit. This I think just gives it the right tone. In the future ill probably install a J Pipe but for now its good enough.

So driving home today said let me just do a couple short wide open throttle runs. It made a sound i wasnt use to hearing the traction light came on i was doing 50-80mph and it aounded like a massive vaccum. I’ve never heard that before and it hauled a**. Did one more run and on the third started breaking up and had little power. After it being on for 2 hours it heat soaked right away. Waited another 5min did a quick 1st gear pull and it felt normal. Thinking IC Pump is pretty much done.

not sure about it feeling quicker ots hard to tell but never seen traction light come on at 50mph though. Maybe deleting muffler has caused not the exhaust because thats obvious but also has caused the motor to sound a bit different just sounds like a massive vaccum cleaner or air rushing or being sucked in from the front. This sound i didnt hear before at all.

The mufflers were definitely heavy but man when you look into them they looked in bad shape it just looks like a big resonator or cat. I hope my regular cats don't look that bad. If there originals they might have been destroyed a while ago and might be clogged up a bit.

That's
me driving it but for some reason I don't hear much audio recorded. Its definitely louder and has drone, although not bad. I guess hearing it with headphones would be better. Vid were I get on it a TAD starts around 1:20 before that point for some reason not much sound was coming through.

Are you willing to part with these old mufflers? I'm looking to experiment with some E55 mufflers and these may suit my need, despite their condition.

I don't mind parting them out but shipping on these will be a lot.
