I am just now exploring the systems. I tried my NAV system but it does not give me many choices of streets in my local area. I try to enter a street but it will not allow me to include the full name. Can this be updated?

As Yuille36 said, you need to update your navigation DVD. If not, it looks like the included photo. My car appears to be in the middle of a pasture while in actuality I was cruising at 85 mph on Texas 130. When I first saw it, I was saying to myself, "WTF?"

 

Your cars navigational information is 10 year old, so it is best to update it with the latest information available. Besides a DVD can be purchased dirt cheap from eBay.
My navigation DVD is the 2014 version, which is the latest one for the W211 E Class. So purchase that version, or a newer version if available.

Don't you need the service updated disc in order to get the new nav disks to work?

 

You only need the service disc if the current disc is from 2004-2005, then you'll require the service update disc. Since, I'm currently using the 2014 version, then no service update disc required.

The 2016 Nav DVD that I bought from eBay works as intended. I had a issue with the first DVD, but the seller sent me another and that worked just fine. I haven't noticed any significant updates yet.

 

This may be a stupid question - Is the upper CD slot intended for the NAV CD and audio is supposed to be played on the CD changer only? I have been playing audio CD's on upper slot like a bonehead!
