WTB - W211 E55/E63 near California
Hi all,
I have a pretty mundane life in general. I work a salary job, I got a company car, there's not a lot of excitement. I started looking for weekenders due to having an extra garage spot, and the W211 came right up my alley.
I've heard it all from both E55 and E63 owners, there is no deciding which one's the best of the two, they're all great. My goal is more to find a clean, reliable ride I can take care of and enjoy on my weekends off.
Being that its a weekend car mileage isn't as big of a deal, but does play a role. I am looking near LA, but am open to travel and aren't in too much of a rush. If the seller accepts crypto, even better.
Thanks for your replies and cheers, I hope to be joining the club soon. Judging by the posts, this is clearly a great family to be a part of.
Take care!

I test drove a few E63's and E55's before buying. No doubt at least to me the E63 is more tame, braking system better and the power band is very different as well, smooth and builds up power through the rpms. There are many other stuff as well that if you know these cars can easily tell the difference, like steering and handling as well and so on. I myself did not pick the E63 for 2 reasons. 1: I did not like how the power band was, it was a gradual build of power of course being N/A and lower rpms it did not feel as torquey as I would like and most of my driving is all below 3krpms. 2: Unless well taken care of, of course you can say that about any car but especially this car it can have engine problems even if well taken care off and as well saw some stuff about tranny issues. Now is that a select few people or its widespread I never bothered to get deeper into it since I really wanted the E55 after my E63 drive and I also wanted to modify it. E63 is a bit more difficult to modify, but hey its got plenty of power still. If you pick up a well taken cared for E63 I would not hesitate to pick one up there really nice and I love the way they sound even stock especially compared to a E55. In the end you really need to see if you can have the opportunity to drive them to get a real idea which way you wanna go, it made a huge difference in my decision making.

Even with the W211 E63, it can still be lightely modded. I have headers, crank pulley, larger injectors, carbonio intake, and tune. But if you really have the modding bug, then the E55 is the way to go.
