Your welcome! I’m glad some members are getting some useful info. from my craziness. Lol

Please read that bottle of wheel cleaner and be careful as It’s for rough cast wheels and etching. The other wheel cleaners that are safe for all wheels may work on the exhaust. I just don’t remember which I used.

Hahaha. I wondered how many people would catch the detail AMG.

With your car being apart there’s all kinds of detailing I could do! I’m sure you have it handled!

I have been focusing on Making sure stuff is as clean as humanly possible with some extra paint on parts here and there. Now that I made the front brake rotor backing plates silver I may redo the rears. But they are on once you put the bearing on as I recall. I’ll have to check.

The mirrors are heee today. Still do not have a bumper as it’s back ordered with Gary. Those and the side skirts are what I’m focusing on for the base/clear job. I was going to ask how you got the paint match? Probably different then what I can do in California.

Yeah I get it on the cleaning. If the parts looked good after cleaning I leave them alone. My car hasn’t been apart like yours so mine will never be that nice.

For matching the color, I used an existing panel to match the color using the color eye (digital camera) from the paint store. Then when connected to the computer it will run a scan to see which of the alternates of that color match the best. Or it will make a custom mix formula.

Your local paint store should be able to do that for you. Use the fenders for color matching since they will be next to the front bumper. Hopefully the new color matches the fenders well and your new bumper will match the fenders when bolted back up.

Got the 10 SEC RECON outside for some pics in the sun!

The Capri blue color looks fantastic in the sun, and the car looks like it’s never been touched. I’m going to ceramic coat it to protect the paint and aid in cleaning.

I would have never been able to buy this car new in 2005 and feel fortunate to be able to buy a nice used one years later.

I’m lucky that my career is in the collision industry so that I could do this project. I’m also fortunate that my son is a MB tech, and can do the mechanical repairs that was needed or may pop up.

I love driving this car, It has a nice sound at normal driving, calm, and good sound at WOT. AND it gives you that “ oh s h i t “ feeling every time you give it the beans!!

New pics in the sun!

Thank all of you guys. I am happy with how it turned out.

I’ve got a few more things to fix on the inside yet.
I need to redo the headliner (Sagging), replace the rear sunshade, and fix a rattling sub speaker and the inside she be good.

Front sounds fine. It’s the sub behind the rear seat.

Parked in the shop and covered. Keeping it Covid free!

E55 Custom fit Cover Craft, Noah car cover.

I cover it with plastic while parked in the shop to keep the dust off of the cover.

10 SEC RECON got a bath this weekend and a quick rip of the street!.........damn should have done a vid.

Foaming it up!!!

I use CR Spotless for the water so nothing spots the car when it dries.

I still dry it though!
