Got myself a new toy
The E55 is great for a lot of things but chucking around corners isn't one of them. So I decided to get myself an old mr2. I have owned a couple of these before and they are such an awesome car for a twisty mountain road and ever so slightly cheaper to buy and maintain than an older Porsche. 5 speed manual, non-turbo (2.0L 3sge from Japan), 85,000miles.
At the moment I am catching up on maintenance but it is in pretty good condition already, no structural rust, paint very good, interior almost perfect. Then will do some suspension and brake work (it needs to be a bit closer to the earth). Maybe in a few years do a 6 speed 3.5L V6 swap. Wheels take a bit of getting used to but they are rare Tom's (made by Rays) and do suit the era quite well so I don't think I will change them.
And of course the beast during my last cross country drive.

I used to have a late model turbo one but they are harder to find for a reasonable price and not thrashed. I figured if I want to go down that route again I will buy an engine/trans, build them and swap it in one go. However I really like the V6 idea, it's actually lighter than the turbo engine, instant torque we all love and 80HP more than the 3sgte too.
Not quite as iconic as a 986 but a special car in Japanese automotive history.

E55 AMG
I had one myself. Red 91 that was my first modded car I loved that thing! I did a turbo jdm engine swap, that thing was quick and fun! One day I’ll get one again but for now I’m loving the V8 supercharged life! Lol

I know what you mean, I have done a timing belt in a SW20 and also an ST185 alltrac which was actually harder. I just put protective blankets over it if I am worried and lean on it. I have sore neck after being under the car this last weekend. Slowly ticking things off the long list.
