just a reminder... Arnott's replacement isn't an exact replacement.

The new shock bypasses the OE Adaptive Damping System (ADS) and is built with a custom-tuned, velocity-sensitive, damper calibrated to provide an smooth yet responsive ride.
https://www.arnottindustries.com/sk-...ans-only-lt-rt

if you're retaining ADS in front, DO NOT replace the rear with non-ADS shocks or vise versa. as you will create instability issues due to differences in damping front to back or back to front.

I guess that is why I wasn't able to find it ;-)

Arnott sells both ADS and non-ADS replacements. I wanted to maintain ADS. I got the shock that maintains ADS. I called Arnott directly and got a recommendation from a tech. My car has Arnott at all 4 corners and still has ADS.

E55 AMG wagon rear shocks

Those Arnott shocks shown in pictures above is what I got, my mechanic tried to install. They are clearly way too long. Here is the correct picture of the rear shock that needs to be installed on an E55 AMG wagon.

Is there a Bilstein Part Number for the E55 Estate rear shocks?

AMG E55 rear shock

Is there a Bilstein part number for these?

Or any aftermarket manufacturer?

I'd like to retain factory function as mine is a low mile car, but the OEM part is backordered and no ETA given.

for the e55 sedan and e63 fcpeuro shows they are the same rear shock for sedan and wagon for e63
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...266800#fitment

so i guess the e55 wagon has a unique rear shock? fcpeuro doesn't even allow me to select e55 wagon is another thing.

That seems to be the case since others have said previously the sedan shock is too long and won't fit?

Might be later E63's that accommodated the same shock as the sedan.

2004 Mercedes E55 AMG Wagon
Stumbled on this thread a few times as I got a 2004 E55 Wagon since two months and upon replacing the rear airsprings myself to Arnott 2725's found out that my left rear shocks didn't do anything anymore so wanted to replace that but it seems VERY hard to find the correct shock in online shops here.
Also had a look on FCP Euro but they indeed do only let you select Sedan's and not Wagons. At first I thought that just ordering the sedan part was fine but as someone here mentioned before, I don't think the sedan and wagon shocks are the same (length?) as they do have different part numbers as the Wagon.

I compiled some information from Google, 7zap Mercedes, eBay and various forum threads, maybe it's useful, maybe it's not but this is what I found so far for myself. If something is wrong please correct me and I will change it.

Rear Shocks - E55

Sedan
Rear Left: A2113262700
Rear Right: A2113262700
OE Bilstein: 20-070915

Wagon
Rear Left: A2113261300
Rear Right: A2113261400

Rear shocks - E63

Sedan
Rear Left: A2113262700 -> Replaced by A2113266800
Rear Right: A2113262700 -> Replaced by A2113266800
OE Bilstein: 20-070915

Wagon
Rear Left: A2113261300 -> Replaced by A2113266900
Rear Right: A2113261400 -> Replaced by A2113267000

So I think for the E55 AMG Wagon, the latest shock part is ALSO, like the E63 AMG Wagon:
Rear Left: A2113266900
Rear Right: A2113267000

Just had a quick look around and none of my parts stores supply them, Arnott doesn't seem to be making a shock for this part either and nothing really second hand on eBay, oh looooord do I need to mail my MB part$ department
I don't understand why the sedan has two identical shocks but the Wagon has two different part numbers.

for the wagon 2113266900 and 2113267000 are the right parts as you’ve mentioned. I had gone through this 2 years ago when I started looking for a replacement for the rear shocks. I was lucky to score both new on eBay for a good price.

I’ve noted sedans and wagons have the option code 489 active suspension. I’ve wondered too if the sedan part numbers can be used on the wagon. Bilstein has a part 20070915, looking at the costs, the OEMs are better priced. Check mboemparts

2004 Mercedes E55 AMG Wagon
Had a look on the Bilstein website here in The Netherlands and this is what I found out:
- When I select the Wagon version of the E55 AMG or E63 AMG then they say there is no shock available from them
- When I select the Wagon version of the E500 or E550 (called E500 over here too) or E350 CGI or any other model with Airmatic then it will show the same aftermarket parts available:

Rear Left OE replacement: Bilstein B4amc 20-070861 / BA3-7086
Mercedes Part Number: A2113261100

Rear Right OE replacement: Bilstein B4amc 20-070878

From the picture I can also see this should fit:

So I'm pretty confident this could be installed for a bit less money BUTTTTT I'm still struggling to find ANY information on the difference between the E55/E63 AMG Wagon shock and the E500/E550 shock.
Would there be a real difference? Will it handle very different? Are they basically the same shock but just sold at a different price point to make more money for the AMG models?

If I recall, I think this is what I went through with Arnott. I think they recommended I use an E500 rear bag. It worked. Retained all airmatic functions, as well so I still have sport 1 and sport 2 modes. But I wasn't buying the shock, so not sure if I'm helping at all.

Thanks for your reply! Well, we are talking about the Shock here and not the air springs, which are separate in the rear and I think you mean those by "E500 rear bag" right? I find that strange btw. they would recommend the E500 rear air spring as Arnott do supply an AMG specific one, A-2725, I know because I put them in 2 months ago and they work great.
It is at this moment I put them in I noticed the rear left shock was not responding and coming back. Official quote from my dealer for one shock was about 800 dollar, just the part, which I find a lot so I'm for the time just checking around for second hand (none available AT ALL for the Wagon) or figuring out if the E500/E550 Wagon shocks are perfectly fine as well.

The correct Bilstein part number for the E55 and E63 wagon is 20070915. I just checked my old notes which I’d written the part number when I was looking for a replacement.

The difference between the AMG and the non AMG will the the damping and I also recall the Mercedes tech recommending either the above mentioned Bilstein or OEM. The AMG specific version is a part of the sport suspension package and I’d advise to stick to it. Possibly the fitment of the E500 specific version may not be the same or compromise the handling.

Rockauto has a great price on the Bilstein $326

Correct, Arnott recommended A2724 as opposed to A2725. I've had it in the car for over 3 years now. But I still have the factory Bilstein shocks back there.

Thanks for your reply and the information between AMG and non-AMG part for the wagon. I will stick to the AMG part.

I think the information your provided about the shock is incorrect though, as stated in this thread earlier I think the one you mention "20070915" is for the Sedan, and is a bit longer than what is needed to be used in the Wagon.
Rockauto does have a great price for this indeed but if you add it to the cart you can see that it corresponds with the Mercedes part numbers for the Sedan rear shocks, which are different than the Wagon:

Just want to confirm this for anyone wondering or seeing this in the future, I was at the dealership in The Netherlands in my hometown today and they confirmed to me for the E55 AMG Wagon with code 489 you also need these rear shocks:
Rear Left: A2113266900
Rear Right: A2113267000

Pair around 700 euro for one, found that pretty insane myself but the guy behind the counter thought it wasn't that bad because on the newer models they are higher priced. Right...

Bumping this thread.

so OEM is the only option for s211 AMG wagons?

No one was able to find aftermarket/OEM quality struts for the rear.

$1k for just struts from the dealer sucks

OEM struts but you can use Arnott for the air struts.
