E55 Wagon rear shock replacement?
My rear left shock absorber is broken on my E55 Wagon. Anyone know what's the best place to get a replacement? The local dealer wanted like $1000 a piece or OEM shocks which is kind of steep as you can get a coilover set for that price, but not sure if I want to go that route yet.

Did some digging so apparently the stock shocks are Bilstein. Part number 20-070915 and these are available from Rock auto for $311 a piece. What a relief

Those Bilsteins are the correct ones for the sedan for sure. Just swapped mine a couple weeks ago and Rock Auto was definitely the cheapest. Pretty easy job using an extra floor jack to lift the hub to release the pressure on the lower mounting bolt. Took me about 2.5 hours to do both sides.

Does anyone have access to EPC and can check what are the part numbers for the sedan / wagon?

Did some digging and it could very be that the E55 Wagon has a different part number for the rear shocks.
Found this part number for Bilstein: 20-070861
Original spare part number:
A 211 326 11 00 ; 2113261100
Can someone check from the EPC if those original part numbers fit the E55 AMG Wagon?

I beleive these are the Wagon shock part numbers:
A2113261300 (left)
A2113261400 (right)
So they are indeed different and I cant find these from Rockauto etc.. meh
Who knows, maybe my post above shocks would fit as well. But it would need to be tested.

E55 Station Wagon rear shocks
It seems the above is correct, this I found:
Rear shocks W211 E55 AMG station wagon
A2113261300 replaced by A2113266900 Left
A2113261400 replaced by A2113267000 Right
Hope it helps.
Now where is the best and cheapest supplier for these parts?

I went through this with Arnott remanufactured rear shocks for my E55 wagon.
No one there was entirely sure; so they guessed and sent me 2 shocks they thought were right. They were correct. Have been on the car for 2 years, maintained OE functionality and ride height. So, Arnott does provide them, they just didn't know it yet.

So if you had rear shocks, please give us the Arnott part number.

OEM only
Unfortunately I am replacing my second rear shock on my 2005 E55 wagon. Only OEM are available for our application. I tried Arnott as well as Bilsteins. Those are only for the sedans.

If I'm under my car again in the near future I will look for a part number. Both rear air shocks are Arnott remans and they're great. Maintained all OEM functionality. The only difference I recall is they didn't utilize OEM airmatic reservoirs.

just did my OEM replacements with arnott's. they're great. no reservoir and seem stiffer, maybe because they're new, or because they don't have additional volume to fill sans lack of reservoir. either way, enjoying the added stiffness.
as far as rear shocks...i don't believe arnott sells these as they would require support of ADS. for the front struts, arnott only quality checks them for usability and rebuilds their airbags. for rear shocks you'll need to go OEM or Bilstein.

The link you posted is not for AMG models. I believe this is the correct air spring (not shock) https://www.arnottindustries.com/pro...matic-amg/2005
Whether they were right or wrong, the parts have worked perfectly for over 2 years now.
