Behr radiator still king?

I have an 03 built in 07/03. It has 90k miles and has the Valeo.

My tech says he's not sure if/when he can even get the Behr, and said the dealer can't promise what brand will come in if they order a new e55 radiator?

I want to order the part online. Which radiator is worth buying?

I see behr prices from $167 to $350, so im not sure where to start.

What part number?

2004 E55
I have a 2004 E55 I bought 2 years ago with 92k. It is my daily driver and now has 115k. It is a early production 04 (09/2003). Some 03's and early 04's have issues in the radiator / trans cooler. I replaced the original with a Nissens radiator along with hoses and t-stat shortly after acquiring the car. It is a excellent unit and very well priced. I am very happy with it.

Any dealer radiator will be fine, They won't have been selling defective radiators for the last 15 years.
I usually use fcpeuro or pelicanparts.

Old Post but current for me. My response to this statement is Mercedes sold millions of cars with defective radiators. Why wouldn't they sell defective radiators at the dealership? To assume they wouldn't is risky. I noticed now that it's Mehle-Behr brand which probably means they're made in China since the last part I got from Mehle, a water pump, was from there. I sent it back. That being said that's probably what I'll end up ordering for my just purchased low mileage 2002 C230. I am wondering just as the OP stated how to identify the new existing one. Is there a date code?
