IAT’s Seem High

IAT’s Seem High ( UPDATE )
I just got my OBD2 Module and downloaded Dashcommand. I was looking at IAT and 189-192 At cruising and 205 after Wide Open Throttle. Is that correct? Seems high to me for some reason. I did repeated runs, same results. I havent yet installed my superflow pump going to do that soon. Also is the Horsepower measurements to the wheels or crank when it reads it on dashcommand app?
UPDATE: I'll Post my update up top so no one has to scroll down through all the posts.
So I drive home today after the install of my Superflow Pump. Went and saw Chris in Costa Mesa STAR MOTOR WERKS recommended by member Das_it16
Outside Temp 80 degrees coolant temp 190-195 and IAT's at cruise 65mph 91-93 degrees and wide open throttle 117 degrees. As soon as I lift off the temp as quickly as they went up and they go up quick they quickly within 5-10 seconds go from 117 to 100-105 and then 45-1:00 later down to 93 degrees again. Did it a few times with the same results. Now it trips the traction control light at 60+mph when I floor it no problem. Just a totally different car now. So glad I did this and upgraded the pump. I went from 160's cruising best case scenario to 90-95 consistently.

So i figured lets try it again because yeaterday late afternoon was hot 90+ degree weather. Today 77degrees outside i do a few wide opens and temps get up to 176-180 cools back down 1-2 min later to 162-165 cruising. So alot better then yesterday granted temps outside are alot lower.
Yesterday IAT’s matched coolant temp 200-205 coolant temp and IAT’s after a couple of light hits of throttle 205+. Today coolant temps tad better 198 but IAT’s lower still not sure if its any good. I still need to change that pump. Just sitting on my desk.

Make sure you replace it with the upgraded Bosch pump (0392022010). Can buy it at Autohaus for $108 genuine Bosch. No matter where you buy it, just make sure it's a real Bosch.

I’ve got the superflow pump sitting on my desk in the next couple of weeks ill get it installed, hopefully that will help. Anyone know of a good shop in los angeles areas that knows our cars well? If i take my pump for him to install he knows what he’s doing.

Contact Chris Mattox over at Star Motor Werks. He works on a lot of AMGs from the AMG SoCal Lounge Group on Facebook. Never heard any complaint from his shop.

That's what ten degrees of retarded timing does to an engine.

for sure, the car felt terrible before, every once in a while it would pull decent when cold but after that it felt very slow and sluggish which hence when I first got the car I was posting on here why it didn't feel MUCH faster then my e550 I have. After talking to Chris at the shop today I'm gonna go with a 83mm pulley nothing smaller and split the cooling and call it a day. I'm not gonna go major on the car. It has too many miles and I want to enjoy driving it now. A few years from now I'll just buy a 2014+ E63. I'm back in love with my E55, wow what a difference.

I also wouldn't recommend buying an E63 with an inherently defective engine. But that's just me.

thats why it isn't your car

I'm pretty sure a smaller pulley and split cooling would make a noticeable difference on even the worst maintained 55 car...

Holy hell man you're driving with the supercharger disengaged at all times basically.
Go get that new pump asap.
You should be seeing cruising iat's no higher than 30F above ambient if you live in a hot state like me.

When I took it to the useless dealership 2 months ago and told them my PUMP is dead they laughed it off(It was 65f at the time and prob 0 humidity)..now I have proof. ofc, my extended warranty is dead now and I'll need to install the 010 myself, I had one laying in my trunk for months.
