Time to step up to the pay window
Blew a front shock yesterday, Been running on borrowed time with my airmatic. 12 years and 130k. It's time to freshen up the whole front end anyway. Thinking about going with a different brand than Lemforder (oem) for the control arms and ball joints. Any suggestions welcome.
The plan so far is:
Have my shocks rebuilt.
Buy a rebuilt steering rack, or get mine rebuilt?
New control arms
New thrust arms
New ball joints
New brake pads
What am I forgetting?

I added some rubber to to the sway bar already. I've got tie rods on the shelf. So, end links and wheel bearing grease, and new inner seal. Thanks!

The choices for our thrust arms have diminished drastically since last time I looked! I couldn't find lemforder, delfi, moog, or trw. It's MB or questionable ebay super cheaps.

Check FCP Euro. I just got Lemforder thrust arms probably 6 months ago or so from there.

Hey, thanks! I will.
Thinking about trying to find some of the rubber bits too. Steering rack and sub frame bushings.

Curious..if Lemforder got you 12 years and over 130k miles, and considering FCP offers them with lifetime warranty..why would you want to go with something else? Not judging..just asking

Lemforders last 30 to 40k. That's every other year for me. Didn't know about fcp last time, That is probably the best option.

Got it. BMW similiar situation and with same brand. Both Benz and bmw consider those front suspension bushings to be wear items. You can go with a poly or Delrin bushing but that will negatively impact the ride quality. If you want OEM AMG ride and handling/comfort balance, Lemforder is your answer
