Supercharger lag.
I have a 2004 E55Amg. If I'm on the interstate and I slam on the gas it excels like a rocket. I then go back to normal driving. But a few seconds later I slam back on the gas and the supercharger doesnt kick in. I drive on for about 90 seconds and then I slam on the gas and then the supercharger finally kicks in. It always does this when I'm racing on the street. What is causing this??? Please help!

Sounds like heat soak from a bad intercooler pump is telling the computer not to engage the supercharger. After you drive a little more temps will come down and let it engage again. Check temps and probably replace the pump if so

As HardmanGT said. I would definitely start with the intercooler waterpump. Nice easy fix for it, and your car should feel loads better with the proper cooling system..

Get a elm327 device and the torque app for your phone. Then report on your intake air temps. Perhaps your pump is not starting for some reason. It takes a lot of heat to disengage the charger..

I didnt bleed the system but i just read up that i should run a clear tube line from the coolant reservior to the vacuum connector to bleed it. Does that sound right?

You need to clamp the rubber hose downstream from the bleed valve. Then you need to go into the trunk and jumper the relay for the heat exchanger coolant pump. It's the bottom relay on the rear SAM in the trunk. There are some posts on which two leads to jumper so as to activate the pump. If you have STAR you just go into the Motor Electronics section and activate the pump.

Great thread on how to replace and bleed easily with a jumper cable on the relay in the trunk

Do this and log IAT, boost, and RPM. That should shed some light on your problem and costs less than $20.

You mean the bleed valve where you connect the clear hose? Also, i saw a video where you can jump the intercooler pump while its on the car with a 12v jump box. Where exactly do you connect the leads from the jump box to the intercooler since its on the car?

I just put the tube on and ran it to the res, out the way of moving parts of course. Turn on car, drive down road, stab the trottle to engage sc then turn around park in driveway and clamp without turning car off. Perhaps the more cowboy way of doing it hehe.

Did you read the link in post 18. It is also in my signature below. Pretty straightforward. To jump the pump itself directly you have to try and apply 12v to the tiny pins on the pump. Not sure how that is easier.
