Last time I ran an external trans cooler was with a GM TH350 with a 3600rpm stall converter. Do the 722.6 transmissions really need an external cooler in our cars?
Thank you.

The older E55s had the trans cooler integrated with the radiator and have failed, which results in coolant mixing with trans fluid. Separating the trans cooler and radiator is more of a preventative measure, if anything.
Hi not much additional room there for another cooler with the secondary heat exchanger plus all the factory coolers for power steering. You could try a heat sink cooler like this one that way you do not have to depend on direct air flow:

Y'all do understand that in the end, it;s the limited B.T.U capacity of the intercooler, the maximum rate of flow of the liquid coolant through it, so the best you can expect is to increase the T.D. between the coolant and the supercharger discharge air temperature. Take a close look at the dual intercoolers and the large pipes utilized on the SLR and its fuel cooler. The best we can do is an ice chilled water system to get the maximum T.D. which in reality is imparctical for anything other than track events. This was the best AMG could design given the parameters almost 20 years ago. But, hey, it's still an incredible machine capable of reliably making 600+ hp and I have no intention of replacing it.

So my positive pin on 010 pump was bent over inside the plug. I must have tweaked it when I had jumpers hooked up to bleed the intercooler circuit. And then bent it over when I pushed on the factory wire connector. So pump was not running. I bought a new 010 pump and will install this weekend. I will just bleed be pump by running the engine and stabbing the gas quick to get engine load over 40% to engage supercharger and therefore intercooler pump that I can monitor with my scanner. I will double check my hose routing to for the secondary cooler. I had taken off the inlet hose to stock heat exchanger and spliced in a union and ran that to the inlet on secondary heat exchanger. I hate having IAT temps 80-100F+ over ambient.

Update, new 010 installed
Update, so I installed a new 010 pump and bled the intercooler circuit again. Now IAT are 10F over ambient when cruising with supercharger locked up on highway and temps drop quick after some hard pulls. Much happier now!
