So you saw Alex's video, eh?
I discussed these with him a few weeks ago. It was surprising to see him work them in this quickly. They tied in well with his header video.

I'm sure that if you did all the leg work and gathered the cash FCP might cut you a deal. Short of that, good luck. Group buys are a royal pain on the seller's side.

just wanted to thank you for all the research

I will be hopefully installing CLK BS mounts this weekend.
I ended up going with CLK BS engine mounts ($125 or so on FCP) and a regular Lemforder trans mount ($20). Why not SLK BS trans mount, well for me it was $ since SLK mount is close to $200. i dont drive much and regular mount should last me a while. plus since its easy to replace i rather just buy $20 mounts.
Hoping to see an improvement since my current mounts are aftermarket and not OEM type. some WestEnd brand

Half the job means half the improvement at best.

What will be the benefit? Just a sportier feel?

The benefits are a more effective mount and slightly increased throttle response.
That engine slipping around on squishy mounts is allowing initial torque to be consumed as energy used to stretch the mounts. That dulls response. A sloppy trans mount is also harder on the drive shaft flex discs.

While these mounts won't make your car able to leap tall buildings or alter the rotation of the earth they will allow you to get better performance, response, and feedback from your engine and drivetrain.

After all, if they weren't an improvement over stock mounts then AMG would not have spent the money to develop them.

You can buy them cheaper online directly from an MB dealer, about $102.75 with free shipping. But I believe MB parts only have a 2 year warranty and it'd be lifetime at FCPeuro.

Also those mounts look similar to the mounts for the M272/M273, will they also fit? I know the transmission mount is different for the 4matic.

I would hope the main benefit would be having them last a lot longer. Better insurance for headers not cracking too.

I'm running it with the maybach motor mounts. A little more coin, but happy with the results. My old stock one was blown out, so no comparison.

just picked up my car from having these installed...car and engine feels great. They're stiffer than stock but in a good way...I'd assume they also feel real nice and tight because they're brand new. as far as vibration....zero...but when driving they do emit a little more vibration almost like you've bumped up your tire pressure a few PSI...so you have a more direct feel, with little to no give. all throttle inputs and shifts are direct with absorption. but nothing to take away the direct feeling at all. these mounts get the

maybe its a placebo effect, but I almost feel like my steering improved as well...maybe my engine was rocking with steering input previously which maybe the case. my previous mounts i guess have now been bad for 1-2 years....i would receive a very subtle thud when accelerating hard or quickly. also when i would steer sometimes, the steering just didn't feel great. felt like i had a lot of play in the feedback not in the action....its hard to explain. one of the two mounts was collapsed 1cm. visually, you wouldn't know there to be a problem unless its next to a new mount as only the center mounting point was suck in.

new mounts whether it be black series or OEM feels great!

update:
after the mount loosened up a bit it feels more stockish than when first installed. still better than original, but not as stiff as when freshly installed.

Also i see from the video big difference in transmission mount
is there really also a big difference in engine mounts, or I’m better leaving my semi new stock one and just get the transmission

transmission will be the easiest to replace yourself. if you're worried upgrade that one first and see how you like it.

what i can report after putting on a few miles is...after the mount loosened up a bit it feels more stockish than when first installed. still better than original, but not as stiff as when freshly installed.

same as stock...if the cost bothers you then don't upgrade them. one of my engine mounts failed so i upgraded them along with the transmission mount.

I’m using ARH LTs.
If you’re going to use any LTHs.......buy the billet mounts that are 10mm shorter. If you use stock mounts more than likely your left header will bang the floor from a dig.

You can still use race cats with them but they will hit also. Thus needing the 10 mm shorter mounts.

Doesn’t matter what they cost as long as its not banging the hell out of my floor when I mat it.

Mine was hitting with OE mounts that were maybe 3-5 mm shorter than new ones. Thought maybe they were giving too much so install new OE mounts. Still hits at the header collector but not as bad as I removed the cats as the left was hitting also.
Not going into detail now but I will update my thread soon.

Could have saved money by just installing the billet mounts first.

if you have an E63...shorter mounts paired with large headers like ARH's larger piping will cause the headers to contact your center tunnel brace. my headers were resting on this with my collapsed factory engine mount. they were collapsed roughly 8-10mm. with the new mounts they've raised them back up and they now clear the center brace by 3mm.

in general though...shorter mounts will assist with lowering the engine aiding in a lower center of gravity. in turn improving handling.

(ARH). American Racing Headers.

look up the threads for LTs. I’m not saying all do....but you’ll see most rub/hit.
