Performing some maintenance on my car this weekend and decided to use my new-to-me borescope to check out the motor mounts. The NVH has noticeably increased over the last several months and the mounts are three years old with 57,000 miles on them. Sure enough, one of the mounts was wet on the upper surface; no way I would have found it without physically removing it. Naturally, it's the mount on the driver's side which is an absolute PITA to R&R.
Oh man, I wanted so badly to forget about how much of a pain it was to do the drivers side mount. Easiest way for me was to jack up the motor a couple inches and it slid right out.

Did you also undo the passenger side mount at the same time? I've read where dropping the steering rack allows one to slide the old mount out and the new mount in but I'd prefer to not have to drop the rack.
Just watched my indy do my motor mounts 2 weeks ago. Using the same method of dropping the steering rack and jacking the the motor/trans up. No way I was going to do it on my back! I used the Maybach and CLK BLK mounts. Very happy with the results.
