Rear Sun Shade Stuck Deployed
So long story short, I had a few electrical problems with a hardwired radar (if anyone has success with this I would like to hear about how you did it) and I ended up going through 3 ALTERNATORS AND TWO BATTERIES. Luckily, everything was warranties after the first one. At the end I was sick of the sh*t and pulled the radar out of the car. I don’t like cords.
So with all this electrical mishap, I lost function of the rear sun shade, but nothing else. Anyone know where I should start? I’ve tried tugging it gently while someone presses the button and nothing.

I feel your pain, I have a Passport 9500ci that was professionally installed in my 07 E63, without any issues. Have you taken your car to a Indy shop and have them diagnose it with Star Diagnostics.
It could be something simple like a broken wire, I had this happen with wires going to the trunk, that wouldn't allow the trunk to open or close at times. I would start by checking your fuses for the sunshade.

Also if someone is professionally installing a high end radar and laser system, like the Passport Max 360 CI, they should not be cutting into any existing wires, as the radar comes with it's own wiring harness.
My 9500ci is no longer made, but is still relevant with all laser and radar guns.

My rear shade is stuck in the up position as well. I read that it's the motor that goes bad.
I also have a bunch of random electrical features that just stop working randomly. My star laptop comes in today. I'll let you know what codes I have to see if it might can help you as well.
