OE Alcantara Headliner Material...
.... Possible to find? I would like to stick with the factory Alcantara. By the time I am finally finished with this Pano ordeal, I am sure it will need it. Already coming up at the front. Where can I find it?

Take the headliner to a local upholstery shop, they should be able to match the current liner and either fix or repair it.

I plan on doing it myself... How can I obtain the OE material? I very rarely ever hire anyone to do any work on my cars.

It's first grown in vitro with Tibetan munk tears as the medium for the egg to develop. It is then shipped to a white dwarf in the Andromeda galaxy where it incubates for 50 years. After incubation, it is recovered by aliens that we do not know where they are from nor do we ask. Once it arrives back on Earth, it is surgically implanted into the yak.....

I'm in Va. Beach. Don't have my car but when I get it back I can swing by the place and get an estimate, our cars are identical twins! (He did my Jaguar and my Saab)

I couldn't find a match but the found the OEM is quite robust for re-use
Its a pain in the but, but the whole headliner comes out the passenger door. scrape off the deteriorated foam, use contact cement from a quart can, NOT the 3m spray stuff.
Came out great.

Bringing this back up from long ago!
I need to refresh the headliner. I took it out once to re-glue it myself, it didn't turn out too well. New fabric is needed.
I've been to 2 local upholstery shops, reputable places which work on high-end and classic cars. Each one told me that the matching fabric they can source would be very difficult to apply to the W211 headliner, because of the curvatures in it, the fabrics aren't sufficiently stretchy.
Have any of you found a fabric which is stretchy/flexible and matches the original grey Alcantara? One shop I spoke with can get black Alcantara which should be stretchy and match the curves, but I'm not too interested in that since I'll have to do all pillars, and get matching black handles/visors/panels.

I haven't had any issues with the headliner on my e63, but I did have Alcantara fabric installed on the piano black dash trim on my BMW X5M. The upholstery shop ordered the Alcantara on my behalf.
It had a foam backing that offered more cushioning. I was told that the OE Alcantara was from Italy, and that is truly the only place to get the original material from.
Honestly, I did think that you'll be able to source the original color of texture, but good luck.
