Oi mate,
EPC shows two bolts for the coil packs.
OLD = N000000001147
NEW = N000000002179 (Same engine cut-off point when they started using plastic covers #60061250)

If you notice, the newer bolt part number is from 2010 and newer. This matches the change to plastic covers. I guess my local dealer and genuine included those since I ordered updated covers and they would be required while including my VIN number?

Lets hope again! I can't wait for the order to arrive. Thank you so much guys!!! I thought I get stuck with this, even if I order a different one, it's not guarantee that it would fit.
Those people who sale parts at 3 different dealerships that I've talked to, how couldn't they figure this out? Updated parts should compatible with old ones. They checked my vin and gave me this valve cover 156-016-20-05 and 000000-001147 for the ignition coil mount bolts. I told them they don't fit, they said it should fit, that I didn't do it right, and told me to bring it to the dealership for service. I was so pissed off the last few days to get anything done. Thank you so much @Solo wing and @hachiroku.

Yes, part # 000000-002179 is what I need. I was able to mount the coil packs to the plastic valve cover. Thanks again.

Pardon my ignorance but why does one need to replace the entire valve cover? I am about to do my valve cover gaskets as they are leaking. Replacing the gaskets is all that is necessary in my case, correct? Or am I missing something? What all do I need? Do you recommend replacing or doing anything else while im in there? 07 e63. Thanks

Oh, my valve cover was broken. I think the tech over tightened a bolt in the back. Replacing the gasket will take care the leak.

When replacing the gaskets, all I need is the gaskets, spark plug ring seals, and RTF seal (for vent chamber)? I can reuse the bolts, right? Am I missing anything? Any recommendations on anything else I should do while in there? I don't need plugs.
Sorry to hi-jack...I haven't seen many write ups on the e63 specifically. Thanks for your help!
Edit: Actually, should I do the plugs? They were changed 22k ago but that was in 2014. I think the manual says every 5 years or 100k.

Lastly, The plug ring seals are included in the kits I've looked at so I assumed you needed them. https://www.autohausaz.com/catalog/c...set?s=d&page=1

Gasket and sealant, If you have the plugs rings, go ahead and replace them too. Make sure you clean out the old gasket and sealant. Dont apply to much seal but make sure you apply on every corners. The bolts can be reused, be careful not over tighten. The driver side at the back is hard to remove the bolts. Good luck!

So just use some RTV on the new valve cover gasket and that is it? No other cover or anything needs to be resealed, correct? Im guessing any hi temp RTV will be fine.
Also, should I change plugs? They got changed 5 years ago but only 20k put on the car since then. Runs good. Would you change them out? Good idea or just wait? Im leaning toward not doing them but cant decide.
Thanks for everyones help.

I bought the MB valve cover gaskets from FCP and they didn't come with plug ring gaskets; but I do now see a set with them, but not before. I'm going with don't need to do (I hope)?? I didn't buy any gasket sealant either, which would you recommend? I was told don't need the sealant, but I see others have used it, and I know it can help. I'm learning as I go!

My plug rings were still in good shape while the gasket was pretty much melted out. You will need to seal the gasket, at least at the 4 corners.

I ended up getting the MB gaskets and didn't get the plug seals. I took a gamble and assumed since I never heard anyone discussing them, its not necessary and id rather have the Benz gaskets. As for the RTV, I just got the black https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/37467 . I'll use a little bit as Dustin suggested? I know its not necessary. I'll use my best judgement when I get in there. It cant hurt?
Does any know the torque specs for the bolts?

Any RTV will work fine, right? Or do I need the Benz stuff? I got RTV 598 high performance silicone. https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/37467
