Is My E55 Operating Temperature Rising To Quickly?
2005 E55 that I just had the radiator replaced. I am kind of concerned about it getting to operating temperature (90 degrees) too quickly (within 2 minutes) even in very cold weather (50 degrees F). It has not passed the 90 degree mark but I have not driven it far. Is this anything to be concerned about? Is this normal for an E55? I don’t want to overheat and blow a head gasket.

I really think I am just paranoid because I have had cars overheat on me before. I have also never had an e55 before and the car is new to me. Anything that I should look out for in the cooling system?

It takes me avout 5 mins to hit 90c when its 10-15c. These big v8s warm up quickly,: most engines have a thermostat so they dont even try cool themselves til operating temp as you want to reach operating temp asap to prevent wear on engine internals.

This place is a joke.
Are you saying it gets to operating temp (80-90c) in 2 minutes after it sat overnight, outside in those cold temps? Or in a garage overnight? Or after sitting just a couple hours? I noted today, my car after sitting outside overnight about 49F took 8-10 minutes to reach operating temp. Of course that depends on what speed you're driving after a cold start.

I doubt it takes much more than 3-4 mins of driving for me to reach operating temp. Ambient is usually around 15C. The only strange thing I notice about these cars is you get a lot more white condensation in the exhaust at low to moderate ambient temperatures compared to most other cars.
