If this has been covered, my apologies, I have just ordered a C3 system, which includes a hard drive w/software. I know that the accepted laptop is a Dell D630, however, as I look at the shelf of misfit laptops, I have an older HP Elitebook that has an RS-232 port on the docking station. Is there any reason that this shouldn't work, given that I install the proper drivers for the dock?

I can buy a separate machine, but if I can get dock setup to work, why not.

Please let me know if this has been tied and I am just wasting time and I should just order the D630.

Dell 5500 works fine for me. The adapter cable to the mux should have an RS-422 to RS-232 converter built-in. Heck, give yours a try, especially if it is faster than a D630.
