Strange how all the sudden the market on power Folding facelift mirrors dried up!
But when I first started the project, I wasn’t counting on them to be plug n play. I was ready to drill and then program mirrors to folds. Just changing them is worth it. I lucked out, my car didn’t have that folding option, but they worked without it. I even wasted $50 ordering a CGW that I didn’t needed.
Apparently on some early model as Alex L mentioned had to be modified even more.
Programmed mirrors to auto open n close; Chapter Complete!
Finally got my scanner to program the mirrors to automatically open n close with my new Autel MaxiSys Mini scanner. After digging up old post from SDS DIY instructions, it gave me ideas where to go; my scanner a bit different from STAR, good about the Autel is that it can be use with other manufacturers as well. So I’m not limited to just Mercedes.
After discussing with golfer1971 on purchasing AM facelift mirrors, he found a site where AM Autoparts.com are selling 07-09 E63 Power Heated Turn Signal Memory mirror for both sides. He just ordered a pair, along with the mirror switch, maybe golfer will chime in when he's done mod. Well worth it either way with looks or when mirrors are coded/programmed for auto open and close (you'll need a SDS or a scan tool compatible). Good luck and order wisely!

I recently took the mirrors off the 2006 E55 I am doing some work on. The mirrors are screwed on from the outside. I am now confused as to why I see these facelift mirrors look as though they can be bolted on from the inside?
Another thread mentions drilling holes in the door to make the update mirrors install-able. You don't mention this. Is this something you did yourself?

Not sure about older models, my 06 E55 is direct bolt on to AM facelift mirrors and screws are from inside out. It’s a very easy DIY. No need to drill for me. I heard others needed to drill, possibly on older model. Yes done em myself.

Yes, looking more I think I can see how MB used the door design from 2006 and plopped an updated mirror in that same shape with few other changes. Economical change.
There's no programming required. They plug right in but if you have an earlier car like I do (2003) you will need a pair of facelift doors. That's because the pocket for the mirror got about 1/4" deeper in later cars.
if not, easy three holes drill would make it fit. I have a couple set of 07-09 OEM mirrors that I’m selling, $150 a pair plus shipping. They are not power folding but a good upgrade to facelift look. PM me if interested

bought my Autel used for $500. They run from $1200-2k. I’m not sure about SOS, it might.
