Im not going to do the lube regulator, not worth the effort. I read online that only ~60% of the fluid drains through the belley pan which is about 4 qrt. I had a dealer top me off and check i was full with a dopstick, when i took it apart the second time i measured how much fluid came out and added half a qrt for spillage

Quote: 2 days ago I took the trans pan off my 2005 E55 and it was 0106 casting. it had 03/28/2005 build date so I know its original. Again it was 0106 and Sonnax distributor confirmed there are no sonnax upgrades for 0106 AMG valve body. He confirmed it with sonnax direct in the past since few other e55 owners contacted him in the past.
Hi,
Im thinking about buying the sonnax sleeve kit with tcc damper valve sleeve as well for my 2006 cls55. So these kits cant be done on my cls55? If not, so only option is to buy a refreshed, upgraded valvebody? Im trying to get a quicker down and upshifts.

Did anybody try out the upgraded valve body from southern hot rod SHR MOD6 NAG1 722.6 VALVE BODY? Is it worth it? The only down side is harsh down shift.

Quote: Soo the plot thickens, I talked to VRP and they sent me a link to the product description from their website which blatantly calls out that the TransGo shift kit PR valve doesn't work for V8's. My problem specifically was that I placed the order over the phone and didn't read this!
VRP says you can use the lube regulator and the springs, but i didnt i took the whole thing out. Not worth the 75$ for half a kit! and Russel says it doesnt do anything anyways

The Overlap control kit works
-Ryan
So does it work without the PR valve? Is it worth it?

This Kit should not be used with an aftermarket valve body,

The PR Valve From this kit is not compatible

Transgo is working on a New kit specifically for the 55k that will utilize the PR valve and geared towards a perfomance increase, That should be released by the end of the year.
The Transgo Kit is not available as a partial kit, So unfortunately to get the compatible components you must pay for some non compatible ones.

This kit is also primarily for "repairing" worn components, Which will recover some of the lost performance

The best transmission upgrade you can do is the full valve body, and that should not be used with the shift kit.

The most highly recommended internal part is the Sonnax sleeve kit, this can be paired with the valve body, other sleeve kits can be good aswell, but the advantage of this kit is the orings on the sleeves.

Quote: You have the wrong size regulator valve in the bore. That's what the "HEADS UP " part is in the directions.
SAME PROBLEM HERE PR valve is too small = REMOVE THE PR VALVE and put back in the original

use all the other transgo and sonnax parts and you will be very happy with the way the transmission works............resolved all of my problems, strange delayed shifts ......bump flares , harsh delayed engagement everything is gone

Quick question
I'm thinking about getting a new valve body and the sonnex sleeve kit, and tcc kit. Mercedes is telling me I need to get an updated tcu as well with the new valve body. Has anyone heard of this?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

What is the 150% upgraded valvebody?

Do you have links?

Did you not do the sonnex sleeve kit and the tcc kit?

Thanks

Would you use the sonnex tcc damper kit? Or have you heard of it?

Quote: Would it be recommended or good to just replace ALL the other stuff (overlap sleeves, TCC damper valve, other springs, etc.) but just NOT the pressure regulator valve?

Basically everything except that one valve that's too small.
I would recommend not using any sleeves or sonnax kits russel from SGW said not to use any sonnax kits with his VB.
