E55 cooling

So I have a new plm xl heat exchanger and Bosch 010 pump that I will be getting installed once my long tube headers and belt wrap kit arrive. Is this going to be sufficient cooling or do I need a split cooling kit and ice box . Any help greatly appreciated thankyou !

I would say all depends on future mods, if u plan on a smaller pulley id say get either an underhood tank or trunk tank which will keep temps down much better.

That should be more than adequate unless you are planning on a few back to back WOT pulls which is not usually possible in this country.

I have a 83mm pulley on the car already as for future mods I’m not sure where to go next...

With a clutched pulley at least, it is not a problem. You aren't in boost ever on the Auckland motorway in traffic and when it opens up the intercooler will be doing its job fine.

How was the fit on the XL heat exchanger? Did you have to cut anything to get it to fit?
