Dont buy a car from sacramento. Too many russians and europeans trying to flip cars up here.
Trust me Ive seen it all.
Both of my AMGs I own were bought out of bay area.
Ive seen a dark blue wagon up here but it was stock btw.
It was funny we drove next to it on the highway and we drew up a "for sale?" sigh and threw it up our window as we honked at the guy.
He laughed and shook his head.

I wanted to bump this thread since I'm the current owner of this wagon. Just in case I ever sell it and/or pops up in the future, you can find this thread via the VIN. I find it funny they were arguing over pennies and now this car is probably worth 50% more in the current market, lol.
I have a huge folder full of maintenance records on the vehicle and have been able to speak with half of the previous owners to build a pretty good history of the car. I've driven it 3k miles or so and it's been perfect. The shop I take it to says it's one of the cleanest underbodies they've seen in a long time for this age vehicle. Yes there are a couple scratches on the car that have been touched up and there is evidence of some paint work, but it still looks amazing. It's not a showroom car but all the panels match, line up, and I don't see any evidence of accidents only the paintwork. I'm super OCD about my cars and this one shows like a 20k car and nothing bothers me. It's been a great car for me and gets tons of looks and compliments.
Sorry the OP missed out on an amazing wagon.

I may be biased, because I bought a 2005 E55 wagon with a salvaged titled. There were several people on this very forum laughing at me, in spite of the fact that I got it in the low teens when clean title cars were feting mid-20's at the time. I had it inspected before I bought it and I've had my personal independent mechanic crawl all over it and no one could find any damage or reason why it had a salvage title.
One guy's logic as to why I was an idiot "if you crash it or it gets stolen, insurance doesn't care about collector value, they only go by book value"... Which is a problem for any E55 wagon owner, since book value on them is less than half of what they're worth.
Anyway, get some agreed-value insurance from a place like Hagerty and enjoy the crap out of your car. I've put 50k miles on mine and it always puts a smile on my face. I have probably the only E55 wagon that you can beat on with no remorse in the USA due to the title. Even then, I've turned down half a dozen offers to buy it.

I just read this thread and it is a very interesting case study in buying a rare and collectible vehicle. I think the lesson is, if you want to apply conventional used car negotiating tactics to a rare car like this, prepare to walk away empty handed.

Not sure what the OP was going on about. Car looks super clean. Seems like a bad case of a rude buyer and a seller standing their ground. Nice pick up @TheYellowCarGuy.

we've probably all run into that potential buyer who presents their case for why you should sell them your product at xx price and simply won't go away when you say "no". it's like they feel they've won the debate and you now have to sell them at the price they've come up with. weird personality flaw
also, he was wrong about the BAT fee structure - seller gets full closing bid and the buyer pays the extra 5% to BAT. so had he bought this thing for 23k on BAT, he'd really pay 24,150
anyway, been following you on IG for a while - car is beautiful!
