Fastest E55 got faster. 9.6 @144
Fastest e55
The ATX crew reset their E55 1/4 mile record and climbed the ladder a bit in the process - Adam also went 1.386 in the 60', which is the fastest 60' of any Mercedes we know of, as well as being the first in the 1.3's So that's pretty cool.
This time our the DA was about 2900ish, so a little worse than last time...
We are now running the TCU and valvebody from Russell. This allows amazing control of the trans - and works great. His setup allowed the switch to a 28" tire. Also added a 75 shot last minute. That will need some tweaking.
Stock Engine/Heads/Cams/Supercharger, ARP Headstuds.
SBE is holding together very nicely so far, especially for having over 163k miles .
One last shoutout is Ahmad - got his engine mounts in the car with the blue poly in them and I can say with all the abuse this thing takes - they perform perfectly. Can't say enough about the quality of his products. It's got the SAI blockoffs also, though that doesn't add any power
car will get faster for sure, the goal is 8’s!!!

Yep - Still stock pistons and bore - engine is not sleeved or otherwise modified in any way.
Car runs *exclusively* on pump E85 from the Valero around the corner from the shop - no other types of fuel or additives.
Thanks!
Dave
P.S. - It is also worth noting that we are not sponsored by Russell (Sound German Automotive), or Ahmad (East Coast Euro), or anyone else for that matter. So nothing I mention is an prompted advertisement. The products are just awesome, and the deserve to be spoken highly of. Thanks!

Congrats on the new best!
8's are going to take a good bit more power, unless you're looking to lighten the car up quite a lot. You're down about 6 mph from having the power to get where you was to go... maybe 5, those aren't all the easy to find at your power level. Best of luck for sure!

The car is pretty heavy still... pass seat is out and lightweight seat on the driver's side...otherwise full interior - so we have some shaving to do. Even with the 60' as it sits - I think we have room to improve there, the tires were coming up into the body on every launch - so I am working on clearancing the inner finders to make some more room for the tires . DA was about 3000 which isn't great - in the fall time I think we'll see something closer to 500-1000, which would be a good help. It was also the first real day out on the TCU, so we have logs to go over and changes to make in that department, which will net us some time. converter is still slipping like crazy also - so getting that refreshed currently - a locked converter should be worth a couple mph. Lastly - the nitrous was last minute and wasn't working well/at all. Being that it's a 75 shot, we can just start bumping it up to see where it goes ... as this thing is now basically a "stock M113k durability test" i'm perfectly happy with whatever happens. I believe it is by far the furthest anyone has pushed a stock one, and it's not showing any signs of fatigue. We'll see what happens!
Thanks!

Dave-
You sound like you're on the right track.. I'm not too sure I would get too caught up in the TCU thing.. converter for sure.. but depending on what you're doing and how it's being done, a "locked up" converter may not be the hot lick. But it's how it's done, where it's done in the RPM range. But then again.. maybe that goes back to the TCU?? lol I'm new to the mercedes thing.. but I've had a good number of laps racing. At the speed you're trying to get to, the platforms start to become irrelevant how they work is all important...
As far tires.. if you can fit a 28x10.5 M/T Pro Bracket on it, that's all the tire you'd ever really need. Where I'd really look is your shock package.. I don't know what's out there for what you're trying to do, but this is where you're going to make up the most time. As a general rule .1 is .3 on the big end.. So getting the best shocks in that area would be a pretty big priority.
Racing in good DA will help as well.. I don't know where in TX you are.. but yeah.. it can get steamy for sure? If you can squeeze in some laps at something like Denton on a X275 night.. or a radial prep you'd be able to get after it a good bit too..
Again.. congrats.. and hey, not trying to step out of line here, but I have been where you're looking to go ET wise..
