So this year alone, I had every speaker in the car replaced with Focal Speakers, modified the Audison Digital One Digital Sound Processor (DSP) and the (2) Alpine Amps, JL Audio sub woofer and the car sounds phenomenal. Had Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating done. Added a new custom flat bottom steering wheel, new rear tires and Carbon Roof Spoiler, Black Series Carbon Instrument Cluster Cover. And I'm presently waiting for the Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Kit to arrive, along with my Carbon Shift Knob.
They still need to attach the chrome trim to the below pieces with epoxy, then ship it to me, they said early next week.
And next month, I'm having the head bolts replaced. And that should be the end for this year. But next year, I'm thinking about a Limited Slip Differential either a Quaife and Wavetrac

I've done so much to this car, this year alone. And I have to tell you, it hasn't been cheap. From the stereo system to paint correction & ceramic coating to tires. I personally feel that now the outside has been addressed, the inside needs to as well.
I've installed a new Alcantara steering wheel, new CF instrument cluster, and as yet to arrive CF interior trim & shift knob. Now I'm addressing the head bolts issue with preventative maintenance, as my car has just passed the 87K mark. I definitely think that this is over-exaggerated.
I've been told by many others, that around 90K is when you start to have issues, with the broken head bolts. Although I haven't experienced any of these issues personally. And to be totally honest, I don't want to. So spend a few thousand now, or spend several thousand later.
That's my justification. But there are many E63 owners that haven't had any issues, and they have a lot more miles than me. But my car is one of those effected with inferior head bolts. But once my head bolts are addressed, no more worrying about the inevitable.
My car already has an under-drive crank pulley, and Kleeman headers installed. A Limited Slip Differential would definitely finish it off nicely for me. But first things first, head bolts and interior trim.

I placed an order with Matt@oCarbon make a set of custom Carbon Fiber interior trim pieces for my 07 E63, and my kit should ship out today. This wasn't a fast process, it has taken almost 8 weeks in total.
These pieces are truly a work of art, all pieces are hand laid with the highest-grade carbon fiber and industry leading resins were used to make my custom pieces.
This is certainly not identical to anything else you’ve ever seen before. Matt never sacrifice quality or took shortcuts in manufacturing these pieces, no matter how much I bugged him.
I literally sent him an email every two weeks asking is it done yet. And he simply said, the wait will be worth it, and quality can't be rushed. He also stated that the pieces will remain, as beautiful as the day it is installed for years to come.

I will be offering up my original maple trim pieces to any of my W211 AMG brethren interested in getting there interiors done.
You will have to pay for shipping, but the donor pieces will be free, as long as you promise to have your trim pieces done at OCarbon with Matt.
And that you offer your pieces up to those wishing to do the same. This is my way of paying it forward to my fellow AMG owners.

For those not in the know, on how this works. Matt must have your donor pieces to work his magic, this requires that you remove your interior trim pieces and ship them off to Tempe, AZ.
So I'm saving you that headache by offering you my donor trim. PM me if your interested. My donor pieces will be shipped to you after my Carbon trim is installed.
This process takes between 6-8 weeks, so to save you from ripping out these interior and waiting 2 months, I'm saving you the trouble. You will receive my trim pieces and ship them off to Matt.

But Matt can also do just about any car, as long as your provide him with the donor pieces. If you have questions, email matt@ocarbon.com

Well the owner of oCarbo (Matt), has shipped off my CF Interior Trim, should arrive this Saturday. And he also provided some more photos, these pieces are beautiful.
If your thinking about doing this, remember that you need donor pieces, so that you don’t have to disassemble your interior, and wait 6-8 weeks for the new pieces to arrive.
I will have donor pieces available after mine CF is installed. If anyone is interested. PM me to be the first in line, remember you pay for shipping, but the pieces are free. But theirs a catch, you have to send these pieces to OCarbon to manufacture, and when your new pieces arrive you do the same for someone else....paying it forward.

Much appreciated, now my only issue is trying to locate a carbon fiber keyless go shifter. As DCT Motorsports dropped the ball, and couldn't produce it after 2 months of waiting. So I reached out to Nic Wright, CKS Performance and OCarbon. Matt from OCarbon said "No sorry, I can't on those. Ones like that without a removable wood trim piece would need to be reupholstered, which is not something I can offer, unfortunately." CKS Performance said no, so I'm awaiting a response from Nicholas.

So does anyone have a contact or know where I can acquire a Keyless Go Shift knob in carbon fiber for my 07 E63? My other option is just leave the original shift knob as is. But I really wanted a carbon one to complete my interior redesign.

I've found a solution to my carbon fiber shift knob issue. My friend Nicholas Wright, manufacture custom carbon fiber pieces, and has agree to help me out. Here is his comment below.

I just got your message. I can definitely do it for you. I charge about $600 to do full carbon shift knobs. I know not cheap, but they require about 20 hours of my time to make. I do know of one other guy that produces carbon fiber overlay parts, I’m not sure if he is any cheaper, however if my price is too high it might be worth reaching out to him. Let me know if you’re interested in me doing it or if you would like his contact info.

The knob to get the weave laid down perfectly takes a great deal of time, otherwise the weave will look distorted. I pride myself on top notch work, and wouldn’t want to make a part that has a flaw or looks out of place in a full carbon interior. That is the only reason I have a very high price for my steering wheels and shift knobs.

In regards to the bonding with your knob, the leather has to be pulled and a fiberglass shell has to be formed on to the knob, before you can actually adhere carbon fiber on to it. This is done by a conventional vacuum layup with fiberglass, followed by a carbon fiber laminate. The groove that makes the knob look like it is two pieces is actually cut and rounded into one piece of carbon fiber twill. It is in fact one piece of carbon fiber. If done correctly it looks factory. Let me know what you decide in the next week, I’d be glad to help you out.

My 07 E63 is currently at Benz Elite Automotive, addressing my head bolts. I do not have a head bolt issue currently, I'm just doing preventative maintenance to ensure that, I don't have one in the future.
It's better to pay a few thousand now, then pay several thousand later. So if your were to have an issue with broken head bolts, the entire engine would need to be removed, especially if you have oil/engine coolant contamination.
As the entire engine will need to be cleaned, and all oil passages remove any coolant contamination. And for the E63, most people starting developing issues around the 90K mark, from what I've been told.
My cost is $2700 +/- and should be ready before the end of the week, there also installing my carbon fiber interior trim as well. I can't wait to see the transformation. Then next year after tax season, I'm having my Quaife LSD installed.

Well those of you, that wanted to do this to their cars, and procrastinated. I'm offering up my donor core pieces to my technician so that he can transform his E55.

My car is finally sorted, this took time and considerable money. I've added new wheels and tires, CF Front Splitter, Roof Spoiler, Trunk Spoiler, Rear Diffuser, Instrument Cluster, Interior Trim and Alcantara Steering Wheel.
All dents have been removed, the paint has been corrected, and ceramic coating added. All 14 of the stereo speakers has been upgraded with Focal Speakers, and a JL Audio subwoofer along with a Audison DSP and Alpine amps has been added.
New revised head bolts and valve tappets have been installed. All maintenance has been done except a upcoming oil change. There is simply nothing left on this car to address at the moment.

Unfortunately all the work, that has been done on this car, is probably more than what the cars residual value is.
But if your an AMG enthusiast like me, sometimes you have to sacrifice the wallet. But I plan to keep this car for the considerable future.

Added another improvement

Well today, I had Darrel from Hurley’s Auto Audio locates in McClean, VA, relocate my radar display from the ashtray to under the rear view mirror. I hated looking down to see what is displayed, this is also a safety issue as you take your eyes of the road every time to look down at the display. Well no longer.

Since passports interface is located Below the dash but behind the console, Darrel had to lengthen the wires in order to run them behind the dash, up along the A Pillar, along the windshield to the rear view mirror. Everything is neatly tucked away, except for the wire running down from the mirror to the display.

Next we tackled the only weakness with my present stereo setup, lack of highs in the rear. I have tweeters in both rear door panels, but their down By your knees, not at your ears where it’s needed. So we installed PowerBass L1A Aluminum Tweeters, as the shop didn’t have the Focal Tweeters that I wanted. One of the best features of these PowerBass tweeters, is that they come with their own crossovers. 😁

So we added the new tweeters to the rear sub woofer assembly, so Darrel looked at how to install this, so had had to drop the tray which holds my alpine amps and Audison DSP. We originally thought that it was a balance issue, that could be adjusted from the amps or the DSP, but hat wasn’t the case. So we installed the tweeters from inside the car, by pulled the trim cover to gain access, but ran the wires down, and into the side panel interface where the signals come in from the head unit.

The cover above is used to hide the hinge deck that conceals all of the electronics.

And I have to say it’s sounds great, especially when I have the sub woofer going. And the best part, only cost me $231 for both the radar display and the tweeters install. 😁

I will say that adding additional tweeters in the rear deck really made a big difference in the sound quality, as the sound was bias to the driver.

It’s about time for another paint correction since my last one last year. Although my paint looks good, their are a few small imperfections and swirls in the paint.

I had ceramic coating applied to the car 1 1/2 years ago. Since then, I’ve applied ceramic spray wax only. But I’m having the paint correction professionally done. Then a sealant will be applied, then I will apply a ceramic spray wax myself, for that hydroscopic effect.
