Dealer can't decipher error code
I'm a little nervous. The car has about 3,500 miles on it. Approx. a week after having it, I was sitting in traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway (of course I was sitting in traffic on that road!) and the car stalled. No check engine lights or anything. Just died. Started right up. good thing, not the place you want to break down. Last night I was in midtown Manhattan (again, the traffic thing) and the car died again. Started right up, but afterwards the car felt a little strange. When going to break the car seemed to lunge forward a little. Took the car in today for another thing and mentioned this to the SA. He said they got an error code coming from the tranny, but doesn't necessarily mean it is the tranny. They didn't know what the code was so was going to have to check with MB. How can they not know what the code means? I don't recall hearing about this either here or on the new E forum.

Sounds like mass air sensor trouble...a common problem with MB's. I had previous W208's stall and stumble without a code, sometimes they never did it again and other times it was the mass sensor and once the crankshaft sensor.

cannot decipher error
crank sensor sounds like the right direction, 04 early production model e55, and c-class have had these dilemmas, car will continue to die out at random times, and the last thing you want is for it to die out while driving 60 mph on the road in traffic, pressure the dealer to either replace crank sensor, or decipher the code and make necessary repair, do not accept no problem found or could not duplicate, those are excuses.

I had the same stalling issues and the dealer couldn't see any error codes come up. They just changed the plugs, wires, and flushed the fuel injectors. Since then, it has stalled just once in the last 4 months.
