No response in R230 land so I figured I’d ask here... I’m getting ready to do motor mounts this weekend on my SL55 (and may have to mess with my oil pan down the road). Rather than jacking up the engine by the oil pan, I’m going to use a hoist. Can anyone confirm for me the appropriate place from which to lift the engine?
I know that there are threaded holes in the supercharger but I’m not sure it’s supposed to bear that weight?
WIS is sort of vague, it illustrates the process with a standard M113 and refers to “Engaging shackle in the front engine suspension eye at the air pump.”
Can someone confirm that I’m supposed to be hooking up to (33) and/or (36) in the EPC diagram below?
anyone know what are those brackets in the diagram are for ? they look strong enough to use for lifting although they appear to be aluminum... I have only seen I car that ran the breather tube through the eyelet hole instead of behind the brackets...
