E55 Supercharger Pulley Clutch Plate
I've had some rattling up front and I went ahead and had the supercharger pulley bearing changed. I was told that the noise is coming from the "clutch plate." Is this part sold separately or do i need to shell like 700-900 for this part? Any feedback would be very helpful at this point. Thanks

That sounds very unlikely. Take the belt off and check the bearings yourself. Unless your pulley springs are broken I can't think of any possible rattles in the clutch.

Agreed, very rare, however I have seen a pulley being sold with a 'rattling backplate' and had no visibly broken springs. It appeared at least one rivet had let go without completely failing. So it's possible. But don't buy a new Mercedes pulley/clutch if that's truly the case. Many of us (me included) have stock and smaller pulleys for sale in good condition for a lot less.

The supercharger rotors and gears can make a rattling noise if low on oil. Especially at idle. If your stock SC pulley is bad, don`t waste 800 to 950 on a new one. We have lighter, stronger and plus adds a lot more power with a tune for less.
